Thanks for letting me know how a professional masseur does it. I agree I didn’t get the right one.

Not sure if this has been discussed. I am wondering how you communicate with your masseur during a session. For example, when the masseur worked on my butt and I was almost aroused and expected him to brush some of my sweet spots (e.g. taint and balls). I thought those areas should be included in a sensual massage, but it turned out he completely left those areas out. Should I tell the masseur where and how I'd like to be touched? I always feel very embarrassed to say something like that.

Some will say that a 'sensual' massage does not include touching the private genital areas.  The masseur's description would have to include 'erotic' for that to happen.  It's been discussed on this forum that depending who you ask, you will get different responses.  The best advice I can give you is to set your expectations when you call to make your massage appointment.  Don't assume that you will get what you want unless you ask for it.  No need to be embarrassed.  I'm sure these masseurs have heard it all.  The most they can say is 'no, I don't do that'.

I ask at the beginning “are you happy for me to go anywhere? Head, feet and everything in between?”. The answer is usually “yes”. I’m aware some people specifically don’t like feet massage, or head massage so it’s good to check those. Occasionally clients say nothing internal but mostly they just say “it’s all fine”. So then I’ve the ok to go anywhere, including balls, hole, perineum etc.
You can read cues from how they react if you go somewhere they don’t like. It might be obvious as in touch their hole and their ass cheeks squeeze together implies they don’t want a finger inside! It might be you try something and the reaction is dynamite. I saw a client recently and during the foot massage I kissed his toe…he responded positively so I sucked it…and he went wild (in a nice way!). Great! Now I know what gets him going.
I think if you pick a good masseur they’ll ask you the right questions and they’ll read your reactions to give you what you want. You shouldn’t need to give him a ‘shopping list’ because that removes any element of surprise. He should just know where you definitely don’t want to be touched because that’s important to respect. I’m guessing you just chose the wrong masseur, he doesn’t sound very professional.

I spent a week in Santo Domingo a few years ago, and I loved it. I do not speak any Spanish, and that was a bit of a challenge sometimes; but mostly it was fine. Remember that lots of Dominicans travel back and forth to NY, so a fair number of people speak some English. I never felt unsafe walking around, but I am a fairly cautious person and probably avoided anything risky without even thinking about it. I went out to two gay bars while I was there, both fine, neither of them anything special. Dominican men are very handsome and sexy; I was in heaven just looking.

You have to leave town to go to the beach, I think. I spent a day at Boca Chica, which is not far from SD, not at all glamorous, and quite cheap - lots of budget hotels aimed at European travelers. Boca Chica is where I experienced the only really bad thing about the trip: endless hawkers walking the beach, constantly trying to sell you something. I got that a little bit in the city, with tour guides and vendors aggressively offering their goods and services. But at Boca Chica it was nonstop, including many prostitutes (only women, unfortunately). The only way to avoid that is to make arrangements to spend the day at a hotel with an enclosed beach - it does not fend off all the vendors, but cuts down on the traffic a bit.

I did not have sex while I was in Santo Domingo, although I was approached a couple of times on the street in SD by guys who were clearly available for the right price. I was staying in a place where it would have been awkward to bring someone back to my room. A week is probably too long to stay there, but I definitely recommend it if you're looking for something a bit more adventurous than the typical resort vacation. There are caves with cave paintings not far outside of town; I would love to get to see them sometime (and I would definitely hire a guide for something like that).
