  1. I had a friend who dropped out of college after two years. He went from living in the dorm and coming home during breaks to living home full time. When he dropped out his dad and mom immediately sat him down and explained "tenant rules." He paid rent and was responsible for weekly cleaning of his own room and the hall bath -- in addition to other chores on a schedule. My friend had no problem with it; the rules came as no surprise based on how he was raised. He bounced from job to job for a bit and then became a police officer, a career he stuck with until retirement. My friend lived at his parents home until he was 31 when he got into a serious relationship with a woman. Neither his parents nor he and his girlfriend were really comfortable with him bringing her up to his bedroom. He got an apartment, and set a quick engagement. On the day of his wedding, while he was waiting with the groomsmen for the ceremony, his father took my friend aside and presented him with the passbook for the savings account where his parents had deposited all of his rent payments since he dropped out of college and became a tenant.
  2. Thursday morning I noticed that he had deleted his travel plans from his A4A profile. After a few short texts he explained that he posted travel plans to gauge interest (his explanation was shorter than I've described and not entirely clear). I get the impression that he might be seeking an eager benefactor -- someone who would fly him here without a lot of questions or expectations. I came to this conclusion by reading between what few lines there were.
  3. I've met escorts that list themselves as bi in order to create a more masculine persona. I've also recently met more than one escort advertising as straight in spite of a clearly gay lifestyle including circuit parties, gay buddies, and/or a committed live-in male partner.

  5. I believe that the inaccurate self-identification you've pointed out skews the data so profoundly that it would be impossible to draw any conclusions. In the real world, outside of escort ads, men have a host of honest, internally conflicted, and outwardly postured reasons to classify themselves as bisexual. Add to that the reasons that an escort might choose to apply that label to the persona he's creating for an ad, and it may as well say "ask me". If an escort lists himself as straight I have a few questions that I may or may not pursue. Any of the others (gay/bisexual/ask me) all read the same, for me.
  6. I've tried to engage Theo via A4A messages and text to his phone. He's very slow to respond. If he texts me and I respond immediately his next reply will be hours later. When I asked if I should call he said, "no', so text is his preferred method of contact. So far his responses have been very short -- his rate for hourly and overnight, then immediately tried to confirm an overnight when I asked for detail. When I pressed for specifics his one-word answer was "top." When I told him some of what I was looking for or asked if he was into specific things his responses have been very short vague affirmatives. I may give him a shot when he gets to town, or not. I fear that he may not live up to his implied promises. His body and his ad are compelling, but his demeanor both in pics and communication are cold. He could be a great experience, but it's just awful when a guy chooses not to deliver. ...and there's something about his pics that make me think they're source from elsewhere.

    Mintboys?

Thank you for your insight. I may reach out to the owner. I admire much of what he has done, as well as the transparency he offers in the "About" section regarding his approach. Based on the variety of escorts he has attracted who do not advertise elsewhere he may be on to something. It appears that he wants to prevent escorts from being voluntarily explicit and avoid boxing escorts into offering information that may not be relevant to their services. I'd personally like to see height, weight and something that indicates their demeanor. I guess he can't force them to provide descriptive headings and text.

    Mintboys?

Is there any inside scoop we should know about the Mintboys site? I've read their "About Us" and FAQ. There seem to be some legitimate ads, based on overlap with other sites and based on some reverse searches. What I find strange is that there seem to be quite a few ads with absolutely no information -- just pics, age, and phone number. These ads have no stats at all and no words in the narrative section of the ad. Is there a reasonable explanation for these sorts of ads on the Mintboys site?
  10. Ad is intriguing but the pics look familiar. Anyone met him or seen him advertise elsewhere? I've checked Rentmen and "friendboy". Reverse phone and image search turned up nothing. Thanks... https://www.adam4adam.com/profile/view/Armybrat1
  11. Currently his Rentmen and Masseurfinder ads say "not available"

  13. Anyone ever read "Follow My Leader" by James B. Garfield? I think one of my older brothers got it from the Scholastic Book Club. It was in our bookcase since before I could read. It's written in a very typical mid-century, middle America, middle class perspective that was typical of pretty much every book, movie, and TV show of that era. Like most of the books in our little bookcase I must have read it a few dozen times. It was a very plainly-told, oversimplified story of a boy who is blinded in an accident and gets a guide dog.
  14. Tough call. If we meet at my hotel I get to smell him on my sheets after he's gone. It may be better, however, to meet at his hotel. If there's a major santorum spill it becomes his problem.
  15. I loved this. Thank you.
  16. awful name. Maybe he should have gone with The Grippe.
  17. As noted, it those were the last times I'll do business with them. "well within their right" is just one way of describing a bad business model. Three levels of customer service got an earful about the definition of "confirmation number" before I was done with them.
  18. I've used hotels.com five times. The last two times they booked me into hotels with no rooms available.
  19. The term dates back to 1954, and Mary Martin.
  20. I'd want something more stealthy than those shrieking motorized doors of the first one. The wine stairs really triggered my claustrophobia. They also made me wonder if anyone accidentally fell in if the hatch was inadvertently left open. People could take that clear top for granted.
