  1. I'm surprised Bernardo didn't get a nomination, or Riff... George Chakiris actually won the Oscar for Bernardo but this one (who won a Tony, i believe, for Billy Elliot) was not buzzed about.

The old Riff from 1961 was Russ Tamblyn, father i think to Amber?

  2. This is one of the bigger shows of this season but if this doesn't do well, it'll be another very weak season. of course the past 2 years was COVID, but Broadway is desperately in need of some turbo-charged new musical blockbusters...  it's been a lot of revivals, and movie adaptations.  Where's the new Rodgers and Hammersteins?  The new Leonard Bernsteins?  The new Jule Stynes?  There's got to be talent out there, but Broadway seems to have gotten so corporate and everything now is take this movie, throw together a lousy score, and bingo you've got a musical.  Don't they know musicals are ALL about their scores?  There hasn't been a hummable showtune in ages.

  3. Yes I recommend the book by David Von Drehle...Triangle

and I heard the PBS documentary was very good, i must see it.

It was really a big turning point in the fight for immigrant rights, worker's rights, women's rights, and labor unions... and I believe Frances Perkins, future Secretary of Labor, was so horrified by what happened that this was also a big focus for her in the 20 years before she joined FDR's Cabinet.

It was a major news story for 1911, and a very horrible tragedy that stunned all of New York City.

Many of the girls were very young and of Italian or Jewish descent.

I was born and raised on a farm in Berks County. Got to spend some time in the Poconos almost every summer. Went to college at Bucknell in Union County and did graduate school at Pitt. Now I live in Los Angeles, which confuses everyone. You can take the boy out of PA, but you can't take the PA out of the boy, I guess. Thanks for sharing about the phone call, CJK. That's an awesome story.

I was raised in Monroe County, PA, then went to high school in Bangor, PA (the Slate Belt; Northampton County), then went to college at ESU (East Stroudsburg University), didn't really like it (wanted to be in the Greenwich Village), then moved to the Lehigh Valley which I did really like.  I'm in Boston now but want to go home so bad, I miss it.

I spent six summers at camp in Wayne County. It is pretty up there.

wow Wayne, is that where Lake Wallenpaupauck is?  And Shohola?  I know Pike - its above Monroe.  I miss it, I'm in Boston now but not by choice.  I want to go back home

I can tell you with 100% certainty that phone call took place. I know who made the call, from what phone the call was made and how nervous the kid was that the religious institution would figure out who made the call and make the parents reimburse the phone charge. The call wäs discussed by a few gay guys at my ten year high school reunion where one guy gave a piece of information only the caller would have known. Each of us gay men from the Altoona Area High School class of 1982 had at some point been asked if he had made the call. The caller did confirm it was him, told the whole story but asked that the other two not tell his name. I can tell you it was made from a black rotary wall phone in a house of worship and long distance was subsequently blocked from that phone. My family were congregants there.

Thank you so much for sharing that.  You are a fellow Pennsylvanian, my brother 🙂 I am from the Poconos (Northeastern PA).

guys..... right now i would absolutely have to say that london is the place to hire. if one wanted to lock himself in a hotel room for a week and go broke, this is the place to go. 15 pages of either full on bodybuilders or unbelievably hot fitness model types. one after another!

and if you are looking at the outskirts of london, want a gay escort and are a total top, i dont think there is another human being on the planet that would fit this requirement any better. dear god look at that ass!

Magic Mike was made for anyone who appreciates the male form in undulating motion.

Gay men who appreciate it have access online to more way more undulating male flesh without a dreary script to get in the way… If I scroll by it I’ll watch on mute.

They neglected to include any gay characters among the dancers. Not accurate imo. I’ve dated a former Chippendale and he said there were always gay men in the troupe. Sometimes the one doing the most outrageous things with ladies of the audience - didn’t have to worry about getting hard!

You dated a Chippendale!?!?  Wow!  😍

  10. West Side Story was very well-done, very beautiful, the performers were great.

Saw a movie called "The Edge of Seventeen", with Hailee Steinfeld, and she was just so beautiful in that movie, a young actress to really watch for in the future.

The last movie I saw was "Latter Days" and my best friend cried at the end (he's also an Idaho boy from a conservative background).

  11. Hopefully once COVID is done with for good, all those hard-bodied studs that have been working out in the gym will realize OnlyFans isn't gonna bring in the money like a good old romp with a friendly stranger will, and we'll see massive influx of highly recommended hunks everywhere!  RM's not a bad site its just that its getting slim, mostly twinks on there now.  Where is the big muscle, the juicy pecs?
