I appreciate the importance of sharing information, especially to avoid scams of various kinds and certainly to avoid physically dangerous situations. At the same time, one concern I have about inviting people to critique escorts on an anonymous forum is that there is no vetting process and in most cases no opportunity to hear “the other side of the story.” This really does not seem fair when someone’s livelihood is on the line and his reputation can be sullied by gossip or innuendo. I believe there have been incidents in the past where clients and/or escorts have joined the forum simply to cause trouble, making false claims to hurt someone’s business, whether out of a rivalry with a competitor or a misguided attempt to “get back” at someone who rejected their requests or offended them in some minor way. I know it’s not your intent to create some kind of “all out bitch fest,” but I think we need to tread carefully here.

It sucks when you don't receive appropriate compensation for your time and energy, but I would try not to get too worked up over $60. Get back to me when you've spent 5 hours with someone and they jump in a cab and take off while you're inside a restaurant checking on dining availability. Would this client go into a convenience store and try to steal $60 from the register? Probably not because with the witness plus security cameras, there's a good chance he'd get caught. But he had no problem stealing $60 from you (shorting your fee by $60 is flat-out theft in my book) because he knew he could walk out the door before you realized you'd been shorted. Even if you counted the money right away, he could just pretend to be mortified about his "innocent" mistake, no big deal.

As an escort, I don't want to "ruin" the experience by counting money in front of the client, but I also don't want to be short-changed and find out after I've left. On the first visit, I always appreciate it when my client either verbally confirms the rate when he pays, takes @ArVaGuy's approach and counts the money in front of me, or takes the approach of @nycman and offers the money then excuses himself for a moment. Once this transaction goes smoothly the first time, I feel much more assured and am not likely to count the money in front of the client.
 
That's me, and your provider may have his own reasons, but I don't think it's something to take personally. It was your first visit and, as providers, that first visit is our time to vet you as a real-life client, just as it's your opportunity to test us out in real life.
