  1. Don't know if this was mentioned previously, but the new Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit (in venues other than museums) looks interesting. I can't find a link that will paste, but google "Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit"
  2. One of the best in the USA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Institute_of_Arts Others that I’ve seen over the years are some of the Smithsonian Museums (National Gallery, Air and Space, American History), the Holocaust Museum, Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village, and the Museum of Science and Industry. I bought a membership to the Art Institute in Chicago a few years go, but just haven’t gotten there yet. edit. Don’t know if it’s a museum per se, but the Arizona Memorial on Oahu is a must see.
  3. Dr. Waters. A Urologist. His actual name.
  4. How about a cheap Super 8 for the night.
  5. Even if closed, most have a vending machine in the lobby where people access their P.O. Boxes.
  6. I think somewhere in my jam packed storage closet I have a box or two, maybe more, of Christmas cards. Years ago, when I sent cards, I would buy them at the after Christmas sales. If any are left in there, I just may sent them out.
  7. Thanks all for not giving too much away. I'm only in season 2, H R H Margaret is about to get married.

  9. Is being positive for antibodies conclusive it can't be passed, or contracted? I don't know, so for me, no influence. Just going to continue my hiatus. Although, on a positive note, my fun fund envelope, where I stash extra cash, is expanding, about as fast as my waistline.
  10. I think it depends on the hotel's cooperation. There was a hotel in a Cook county suburb (Chicago) that allowed police to walk halls with drug sniffing dogs. That hotel has since closed. Not sure if it is/was in cooperation with the hotels, but In other areas of suburban Cook county (usually in proximity to ORD), sheriffs occasionally do prostitution stings.
  11. Don‘t think so. https://rent.men/KrisswanAsian
  12. Reminds me of a scene in the web series "Hustling". The main character's bestie, a personal trainer, begins to escort. He meets a guy, they each do some drugs, and presumably have sex. Afterwards, as the trainer is ready to leave, he asks for his money. The client, takes out his badge, and arrests him.
  13. I love chocolate truffles, and some red wine.
  14. Glad you've had good luck. Back before I retired in 2014, anecdotally, I heard a couple of our visiting colleagues who booked the one on Adams in Chicago were not pleased. Although, to be honest, never heard why.

    Thanks @Danny-Darko
  16. $400/hr is not outrageously high in my opinion. Last guy I hired for the first time, back in September of 2018, charged $450 for 90 minutes ($5.00 per minute).
  17. Glad to see others have been quick to provide support. Happy Motoring!
  18. Setting aside my unwillingness to meet with someone during Covid, due to my age, and health history, a masseur I so wanted to see again came to town. Dispite Covid, I thought of meeting, since it was just a massage, but at the time I had eczema on my lower legs. Itched like crazy. I thought it best not to meet.
  19. Sometimes you’ll find them in the men’s room of nicer hotels and restaurants.
  20. His rent.men ad is active. https://rent.men/Killian_James
  21. No, but our regular mailwoman recently retired. After a month or two, began to see the same guy delivering. Tall, older (all of our other regular carriers have retired after being on our route) with a little gray hair, nice slender build (I imagine it a bit muscled, and defined) under the uniform shirt he wears untucked, but because of the ever present mask, have only noticed his nice eyes, and voice. One day I asked if this was now his regular route, and he said yes. We introduced ourselves to each other. Over 60 apartments in our building, but he remembers me when I happen to check my mail when he's there. I'll be honest, if I notice he's there, I go check the mail. We've had a few short conversations since. But, since he's going to be here on a regular basis, I'm cautious.
  22. No experience with flippers, but I think it depends on the real estate market at the time, and the housing stock available. In a rapidly appreciating market, with low inventory, get in quick, throw some lipstick on the pig, and turn a quick profit. Let the buyer deal with the issues that crop up later. There’s one born every minute. My friend’s old roommate and new bride were the buyer of such a home. Some flippers, I believe, look for rare gems. An anecdotal example, this was years ago. A co-worker inherited his grandmother’s modest house in an older, upper middle class suburb and lived there for a few years. The market got hot, and that “destination” suburb was going through a period of tear downs, replaced by larger homes, or extensive additions. The co-worker decided to test the market. He put an ad in the paper, no realtor. A few days later, a knock on the door, a guy wanted to buy. Gave him a generous offer. Co-worker agreeed, and then asked the guy if he wanted to see the house. Buyer said no, didn’t need to. The co-worker never said if he ever went by to see if it was still standing. Perhaps contact a few realtors to get some idea of the property’s value If sold as-is. Neighborhood, location, lot size, schools, noise, etc. all are factors besides the house itself. A house can be changed, but location can’t.
