My point was that for a Sugar Baby seeking an arrangement in New York City...asking for $ 10K is not as unreasonable as some of you may think it sounds because NYC virtually has it's OWN economy. The average one bedroom in Manhattan is more than 3k now . You would need to avoid most every neighborhood in Manhattan except those you wouldn't want to live in. And "midtown" is hardly a desirable neighborhood anyway. At $3k you're looking in Brooklyn or Queens . MY one-bedrooms ,( in a desirable neighborhood) are going for $5k a month and rent within the hour. It's a bit bonkers here now.

There is definitely truth in that statement. In my experience, the tipping point between gay and straight is actual intimacy between same sex partners. I've "flipped" a few properties myself but I would recommend to never buy from 99% of the people who flip properties. There is no incentive to deal with important structural issues and the business model incentivizes lipstick-on-a-pig work. Pretty bathroom tile and flashy kitchens are often instealled over termite damage and dodgy plumbing . In NYC there is a bit more room in budgets for covering your expenses on necessary updating of structure / plumbing and electrical but in the rest of the country there is a ceiling on how much anyone will pay for a house so avoiding out of sight issues is common and a huge problem later for the buyer when you have to rip out that pretty tile to deal with a mold problem that was covered up.

Thanks for your response. The comment about stereotypes of straight white males brought me down to reality. It's just that I know a LOT of gay and bisexual men who aren't the least bit effeminate, and that is MY day to day experience of men who like men. Growing up, I was told that homosexuals were "sissies' and effeminate. That always made me ashamed to admit that I was attracted to boys. I wasn't like that, and so for many years I literally thought there was something wrong with me. I wasn't straight but I also wasn't "a queer" as they called them in those days. The concept of bisexuality was completely unknown to me until I was in my 20s. So when I watch a television show that is just wall to wall swish, I find it insulting to rely on these old stereotypes to portray gay men. You are correct in pointing out, it's not a documentary, its a slice of life and yes there is certainly a group of swishy, rich gays sipping vodka martinis out there somewhere right now.
