I'm hypoglycemic ( not diabetic) but likely a result of the way I ate as a kid. Tons of candy / soda / fruit juice / Kool aid / pastries and every meal served with potatoes and bread. Weight gain was not and is not my issue. What I need to watch is dizziness and extreme and sudden exhaustion. So yeah...I've been watching carbs for two decades. One of my "cheats" is really good Belgian Fries..and yes I can attest to the fact that one big plate of fries and my glycemic index is fucked.

NOTHING with a designer label is actually "stylish". I've worked in and around the Fashion Industry and I work in Design. Nobody with any style, and class advertises how much they spent on socks by purchasing them emblazoned with a giant designer logo.

Agreed. I've had similar situations where people were totally unappealing in real life. I hand them half and just excuse myself as not being able to keep the appointment, and walk away. Nobody wants to admit they're fat and unappealing, especially guys who used to be hot.

I remember when I was in my 20s and I was first experimenting with gay sex, I had some medical problem that took me to the walk in clinic at the nearby hospital. I mentioned to the doctor that I had been engaging in penetrative sex with gay men as a bottom. His response was to tell me I was breaking the "natural law and angering God". That's why I was sick. I reported him to the administration as being unprofessional and they simply assigned me to another doctor. Although I found this medieval attitude counterproductive, I can't say that I've ever assumed it would happen again and it hasn't. In 2020 I rather assumed the medical profession had modernized to a point where personal opinions on homosexuals don't affect a professional medical opinion. Sad to think that wouldn't be true, unless we are taking Arkansas or Mississippi.

Both my wife and I like to cook and also prefer to prepare all the food when we entertain large groups . The one thing we ALWAYS do is hire a bartender. I couldn't imagine anything more tacky at a private party than to have a tip jar sitting there sending a message that "these two are so cheap I am relying on tips".
