  1. What makes dark humor work is that both performer and audience mutually and silently agree the act/behavior/thought at the center of the joke is heinous, so much so that we KNOW the laugh comes from the absurdity of talking about it in a banal or sarcastic tone. They took a gamble that part of the audience did not know about the agreement. And that they would equate “convert” with “rape”. (I mean, really! One is Protestant and the other Catholic…)
  2. It’s also a good idea to know your audience. In a live concert (or even on a CD for sale in the lobby they make great gifts get them now!) the audience has gone to some effort to participate, thereby expressing an understanding of the group and, likely, their overall intent of using music to elevate the community. Gay men + sarcasm = comedy gold. Usually. W&G as proof. But when you’re posting a selection on YouTube or other platform, a more critical eye ought to be used. - Assumption must be made that some people will take literally what is ironic or otherwise reliant on a particular humor. Seems a lot of people who take things literally are also loud. and very post-y. “ !!! !! ! ! ! !, and further, !!!!!! !!!!!!!! “ And those same people are rarely valuable in any exchange intended to be “a conversation” about public perception vs nuanced reality. Let’s each send our local, if not SFO, Gay Chorus a generous donation!
  3. Learning to swim as an adult, it’s kinda clear that the hydrodynamics for racing are not a factor. (Or are you already a good swimmer, and taking advanced to learn competitive style? ) There are trunk and boxer cut suits in very light microfiber fabric which do not weigh you down in the water. It seems that demanding a Speedo cut is more an aesthetic choice. If that was a condition for a beginner swim class, I would have to find another class… I wore them when young and cute in the 80’s, and not since. (And thanks, grandpa, for the YMCA membership in 1964 so I could learn swimming as a kid who hadn’t learned to hate his body yet!!)
  4. My stars! The minuscule details that plague this gorgeous man, each and every word of every conversation haunting his every tap of the keyboard!! If only there was something that could help relieve the constant torment… https://weedmaps.com/news/2020/03/missouri-weed-for-beginners/
  5. When it began, wayback… the people were represented by a white silhouette, and it put the point of the image at the perimeter. Being homosexual does not make one immune to the tacky gene if you’ve ever laughed at “who wore it better” or similar fashion dissing… it’s basically the same.
  6. I’m just starting Sinner and really like it - writing way better than S/L, IMO. If fewer dicks are the price of better show, I’ll pay. (I can find them in my Twitter feed 24/7.) If they were using an appliance on the actor, they ought to have given it the shape more appealing to women - less length, more girth. if it’s the actor’s real junk, good for him! The joke landed regardless.
  7. I love DA. The trouble I find with all soap operas going on too long is that it’s impossible to follow the characters over 20 years and not have to manufacture interest with alien abductions or reappeared evil twins…
  8. Boring in Ft. Lauderdale Are there any geological nerds here who can change my perception that this is a preposterously dangerous idea for this location?
  9. You know, when I saw the topic, I thought, wow! we would share some introspection, and acknowledge the common realization of the rapid changes taking place all around us, in society and our physical environment, and how we’re all struggling to not feel overwhelmed by it. Then I saw the byline.
  10. Has anyone thought about exactly HOW we’re going to entice any of these bankable stars, without already having a Director they want to work with? Greta Gerwig.
  11. Patrick Stewart in JEFFREY “I’d say, ‘sorry - not without socks, Misha”
  12. After the twitz hubbub I decided to begin watching the series. 6 min into ep2 I realzed I did not like ANY of the characters, and skipped to ep3 18m (I like a little set-up…) Nice. Until there’s more…developments….and I see the martini flag flown here, I’m going back to hilarious hijinx of Sinner
  13. Two WW2-era British-made spy dramas each good in their own way - both Netflix TRAITORS 6ep series and RED JOAN Film w Judi Dench from book based on real spy ————— GROWING with Amy Schumer (Netflix stand-up special) followed by EXPECTING AMY (HBO Doc about Amy Schumer and her extremely difficult pregnancy and the work she did throughout it, especially the show made into that special) If you don’t like her you probably won’t enjoy either but the doc on HBO should be required watching for every male person.
  14. Christopher Meloni, Jason Momoa, Zac Efron (with his eco-show weight and fur) Tom Holland, and Pete Davidson.
  15. Yeah… not going to happen in US - as it is, weed dispensaries, strip clubs and dirty bookstores are already pushed outside the city limits to the wrong side of the tracks. A brothel for the gays would only be granted use permits for properties on the tracks. ON them.
  16. Yesss!! I shoot the instant I hear “no copay”
  17. Of course. For Patricia Neway as Abbess.
  18. Frankly, I just love the reappearance of bed as a verb, though I find it difficult to name three I’d like to. How about the ones I’d like to sling?
  19. Loving grilled salmon with steamed veggies doesn’t mean I’m never going to order the pork rinds and a beer…
  20. I was far away from NY when these Titans ruled the Rialto and too young (even as old as I am) to have appreciated much more than an orange-ade at intermission. Gotta talk to my time travel-agent to include South Pacific and King and I.
  21. I gather you meant to include “see” And no, but funny you should ask, because it’s on my list of things to do when planning time-traveling. I would want to see the opening nights of Anything Goes and Gypsy, just to witness her at her best. As an actress, her inclination on film always seemed to be “let ‘em see ya from the back fuckin’ row!” I would like to see that applied in its appropriate setting.
  22. The triumph of will over technique, sincerity and taste. Never will there be a shortage a success stories which prove that axiom
  23. Too old for …what, exactly? Too old to make another man feel erotically desirable? (Courtesan 101, which I studied under Marie duPlessis in Paris) Too old to open a wallet? (Cash no longer essential for engagement of personal entertainment.) Too old to have the ingenuity to remove ones dentures to play “who’s a hungry Hoover?” Too old to laugh at the folly of mankind, deeply enough to milk another load out of the closeted Mormon “floating” inside your ass? Beauty fades, creativity is eternal.
  24. Construction workers are in demand all over, so he should discreetly put in for overtime, maybe.
  25. This friend would have to be a friend with whom you’ve already had …benefits… and would be someone you’d gladly share in a three way that he put together with an unknown third. Because that’s what you’d be asking of him. If you don’t have that friend, you might try a couple things in your search. Look for the mature, experienced guys, and guys who welcome newbies/inexperienced/married Providers sometimes say in profile if they have a buddy they like to work with, and I imagine any guy you like will answer the question by the 2nd or 3rd text you if he thinks you are serious. Do as much review reading as you can, because those will be where “my husband and I both had fun with him” will show up. Im older and am sorta self conscious about my body. I would be more so with a trick or date than I am with providers. They’ll already have suffered through worse than what I bring to the party. Someone long ago said “you’re not paying the hooker for the sex, you’re paying her to leave” A variation, you’re paying them to pretend they’re having as good a time as you are. Take the compliment, and have fun!
