You connected the dots - thank you

" Then, with the photo and messages sent back and forth between the potential client and provider, plus the photo, bingo, you have a connection that puts the client at risk for extortion." You did not connect this part of my post to your response. The words written between the client and the provider (in rentmen or similar site) together with a photo connect the two -

You are funny. I do not have linkedin. You said you are not from the U.S. Not all professionals in the U.S. subscribe to facebook and similar sites. I am one who does not like my privacy put at risk. I have no need for that type software. I do not accept all clients and I do not advertise.
-
Matt, you are a nice guy and I want to meet you one of these days. However, think about what you wrote. If an escort got a photo of a potential client from the rentmen site, there is no way that the photo cannot be traced back to rentmen. Then, with the photo and messages sent back and forth between the potential client and provider, plus the photo, bingo, you have a connection that puts the client at risk for extortion.

You live in a country where prostitution is legal. In the United States, it is not the same. People can have their careers destroyed if arrested for prostitution in our supposed free country. No, you are lucky that English law is not so bizarre like it is in the U.S. when it pertains to laws involving sex for sale or rent.

Uh oh, you missed my point. Our photos, particularly mine, are not all over the Internet. I do not have a facebook or similar type account. Most of my clients do not facebook type accounts. I am a highly private and professional person - not an escort. Thus, where you missed the point is that if an escort asks on rentmen or a similar escort site for a client's photo, and the photo comes through rentmen, it is easy to trace the source of where the photo was sent. The photo plus the conversation between the client and the escort puts the client at risk for possible extortion. I am pleased that you are comfortable posting your photo "all over the internet" but most people do not do that.
-
You said, "our photos are all over the internet" which I assume you mean you are an escort. A client, on the other hand, does not have photos "all over the internet" and some clients are quite vulnerable to extortion. For example, suppose you were a married man with a family and your sexuality was not known or suppose you were a well known political person whose sexuality was not known to the public. If an escort got a client's photo willingly from the client who was trying to get a sexual meeting set, the escort could attempt to use the photo as a basis to demand money from the client for silence. As I said, I am aware of one such case at the present time.

Most of the responses thus far all seem innocent and to the point. But - - - - I have not seen a response in connection with possible abuse of a client photo if a client sends a photo to an unknown person advertising on a gay escort site, like rentmen for example. As I write this post, I am aware of a provider who is currently sitting in jail because he obtained photos of a client then attempted to blackmail the client by use of those photos.

Many providers specifically ask you not to contact them through rentmen. They ask you to either call or text. A good many providers have that request in their ad. I believe what you two wrote that rentmen rejected your reviews for a reason that is inconsistent with their advertising protocol. However, I am puzzled why they would have such a (only sometimes) requirement when many providers ask to be contacted directly either through a phone call or text. Like I wrote, I never had a problem submitting reviews to rentmen and I never use the rentmen message system to contact a provider. What a strange system. They allow a provider to request only a phone call or text then reject reviews from some clients but not all. That sounds very unprofessional to me. EDIT: Here is a screenshot of an add I just read: it confirms that providers request calls or text - "QUALITY +++ HERE TO GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT AND MORE *FOR SERIOUS ONLY *PLEASE TEXT ME RATHER THAN MESSAGE HERE IF POSSIBLE TO ENSURE A QUICKER RESPONSE."

Not necessarily disappeared or deleted! His ad is most likely still there but under a different screen name. It is an old trick used by many rentmen advertisers to simply keep an advertising account with rentmen but change the screen name. Some advertisers lurk on this forum but do not contribute posts. Some contribute. If he is a lurker, and if he saw the comment it is likely he changed his screen name. It is entirely possible that the provider read the negative comment then decided to change his rentmen screen name.

Hi Builder. If you paid the 800 to one of the big three airlines (AA, United or Delta), you can get partial credit for the 800. They will charge you a fee from the original ticket of anywhere from 150 to 250 then give you a voucher to use on a different future flight as long as you were the one who bought the ticket and can produce a receipt. If it has been less than one year since the incident, you should consider calling the airlines to get a credit for a future flight. In the meantime, thanks for the warning about that no-show character.

You can please some of the people some of the time but not all the people all of the time. -

How odd. When I contacted a provider that had a phone number and the provider said he prefers a text or call, I never use the rentmen e-mail. Most providers discourage the use of the rentmen e-mail because of the time lag in communicating. I have left several reviews on rentmen, both good and bad. I have never been challenged by rentmen because I contacted the provider through his listed phone or listed text rather than through rentmen e-mail. If you like, I have the same user name on rentmen that I have here on this forum. You can access my rentmen reviews and you will see that I never contacted a provider via rentmen e-mail. One of the questions rentmen asks of a reviewer is if you actually met with the provider. In which cases, I did meet. I am not saying you are wrong. I am saying my experience with rentmen is different from what you described.
-
He has only five-star reviews on rentmen. Maybe you should give your input to rentmen to bring those five stars down to reality. To look at this ad on rentment, and see all five-star reviews, one would think he is the greatest thing available. Your response would bring a little reality to his ad.

I'd Stay Away From Dallas Masseur/Escorts ParkLane

Even that new link has been changed! These guys must be difficult to get along with based on what is reported and changing their ad so often. -
Australian mistake.....probably my own fault for not asking more questions
coriolis888 replied to njr47's topic in The Deli
Don't feel that you made a mistake. Quite frankly, in Sydney, there are slim pickings of escorts. I was in Sydney earlier this year. I was surprised to see the high asking rates in addition to the small number of guys in such a big city. I looked both on rentmen and rentboyaustralia. Maybe I visited at the wrong time of year. Needless to say, I did not meet any escort during the week I visited. -
You mean that the stock of Austrian piano manufacturer, Bösendorfer, is currently owned by Yamaha. Manufacturing of the Bösendorfer piano still occurs in Austria.
-
Actually, there is no Germany made Steinway piano. The name Steinway is an American way of saying Steinweg. The "weg" is a German word that means "way" - All Steinway pianos are made in the U.S. To make a long story short, the German citizen, Heinrich Steinweg, changed his name to Henry Steinway when he moved to America to manufacture pianos. He manufactured the same fine quality piano he formerly manufactured in Germany. Instead of calling the piano a Steinweg (his original name), he called the American made piano Steinway (for his changed American name). My relatives who live in Germany have a Steinweg piano. I have the privilege of playing it when I visit there. In the U.S., I own a Steinway. Both pianos sound pretty much alike. I know this is probably boring to most readers. But, someone did bring up a German Steinway, that does not exist.

Dear x x x x x , "We would like to inform you that the access code feature for Private Galleries is no longer available. This change is part of our efforts to simplify and improve the RentMen user experience." What they really mean is: This change is part of our efforts to make more money for our company. You need to pay a monthly fee for this new service.

No, they did not. Read the narrative of the case again. They took away SOME of the million miler benefits. The judge ruled that United could do what it wants to its mileage program.
-
For life? Did you read the judge's statement when million-milers took United to court via a class action for taking away some lifetime benefits (and lost the case)? United got away with the "fingers-crossed" defense. There was a lot written about the lawsuit but here is a short version which lets us million milers know that United can change its mind on anything and get away with it: https://viewfromthewing.com/never-forget-frequent-flyer-program-lying-although-lie-others/

On a lighter note about a United pilot: https://viewfromthewing.com/united-pilot-receives-300000-settlement-after-tsa-claimed-he-was-exposing-himself/

I am really sorry to keep this going. However, your statement is not correct. The $18,000.00 minimum spend to achieve 1 K has NOT been around since 2014. it is a new requirement. It can die now?
-
Sorry to keep this thing going. Did you read the article I supplied? You will see that the new United program does not care how many miles you fly. They just want a minimum of $18,000.00 annually. For example, you can fly a couple of hundred thousand miles in coach for less than 18,000 but if you have not spent 18,000, you do not get 1K
-
Let's see - An airline mileage program that no longer uses miles flown to measure loyalty to an airline! That is normal? No, that is greed on behalf of the airlines. Loyalty recognition is now based on what you pay for tickets rather than how much you fly. In most years, the mileage programs are more profitable than the actual transportation of passengers and freight. I don't like the "logic" of using an airline's mileage program that is not based on miles flown.
