Actually I am worth total almost 3M, but I don't consider myself wealthy but we judge our wealth in some respect to our peers.  And that is considering that my social security meets all of my monthly nut and some additional expenditures.    I am very cognizant that I need to maintain my nest egg and need to live to do that.
I do watch how I spend my money.   I come from a family that never had financial issues but was taught to be mindful about money.  I live at a middle of the road level.  I fly upgraded coach.  I stay at Hampton Inn level hotels.  I will eat at Outback but prefer a slightly better restaurant although I don't eat out often as I am definitely not a foodie.    Living in Las Vegas I do shun the places on the Strip.  I buy mid level cars, the last a Hyundai Tuscon, new,  but keep them for 5 plus years.  I rarely shop Macy's. more like Kohl's on sale or the outlet mall.
I do live in an upscale community so by comparison to those who eat out constantly and take several expensive vacations a year, and also have vacation homes or have 500K bus size RV I don't feel wealthy.  But I am also aware of how very fortunate I am, rating in probably the top 10% of the country so I shed no tears and ask for no sympathy.  But I am can't buy 3000K pants from Neiman Marcus or spend 1000K for a night at the Four Seasons,  that is wealthy.

As I have aged, my tastes have changed. as I am now a senior.      I won't hire kids, 18-20 any more.   While I might hire a 25 year old, I actually prefer 35 year olds or even older.  Actually there are young men that I noticed on RM 10 years ago and didn't hire them then but as they have now grown up and matured I have hired them.  One of the few escorts I have hired more than once and probably about 6 times is in his late 50s and has a dad bod.  Never would have looked at the geezer when I was in my 30s

One issue is that escorts have limits and getting to know and accept them is an issue.  One won't kiss, or kiss deeply, another would bottom but no fingers first.  I try to tell them as much as I can about me, sometimes I feel it is TMI, but they rarely reveal much abut themselves.  Of the list of activities and interests on RM, what are they really into and will initiate and what are they just OK with.  They will check rimming but if you go for it, OK, not their thing but they will let you,  but they wont do you.  I have one semi regular, one of the few guys I have hired more than once.   But all the awkwardness and uncertainly is gone.  All the boundaries are known, neither of us is into S&M, how to play how to love how to hit a hot button, even how to pace each other,  so it is a free wheeling good time.

I really don't care what they are "expecting".  Actually I was just at what is oxymoronic, a moderate priced restaurant on the Vegas Strip- $40 entrees,  and for a party of 7 they added the tip, as expected, and only 18%.   And I strongly object to using the post tax amount for the basis.   Sales tax is for the state, as someone noted, businesses don't charge it, they collect it for the state,  and it has no relationship to the meal served.    I was talking about tipping more at Denny's but does the server work any harder to serve you a $50 bottle of wine than and $500 bottle, or do they just have a bigger grin because of the tip they expect and had how much work is that anyway and you are going to tip $100 to bring a bottle to the table.?   The whole system is insane.

I live in Vegas and have been trying to hire.  It does not seem to matter,  text or phone message,  if I ask for a date /time and if you host ( where- major intersection ) or out,  followed up by or just state that I am a local  (and if this is not good), when are you available in general like only work nights or weekends  so I know when to ask for.   And  these guys are long time RM as I only hire proven guys with reviews, even if the reviews don't say much.  at least they have some sort of track record to weed out the flakes.  And I never ask about information already posted on their ads or other until a date is set.  Not looking for a complicated or long return text, but just the silence is amazing from guys looking to make money.  I guess there is not much anyone can offer but is frustrating when I get a chance to hire ($$$$) and can't find anyone.

The tax situations and all the rest of the stuff you quoted is really irrelevant.  You are paying for a service.  What your income/tax situation and what the provider does has no bearing on the provider and if you tip or not.

There is a difference between tipping an independent provider and tipping an employee, like a server in a restaurant or the massage therapist in a Massage Envy.  The provider sets the rates for his services and should set them at a level that he is satisfied with.   If there is a day where he provides an extra service or exceeds the indicated time, then a tip would be in order.  If you are paying $150 or 200 for a massage, he should be satisfied with that.  If not he should charge more, not pay tipping games.  Maybe you should find another therapist if he is not satisfied with you paying his fee.

So what if you recognize each other?  You will both have a confidence to keep about each other.  I ran into a long time friend at a bathhouse.  We had a chat about our closeted lives and when we knew we were bi.  But after that day, we have said nothing to each other about it.
