Twenty-five years ago, I had my first non-spa massage, lured by a sexy shirtless ad in Frontiers. Deron was my first, and I was hooked. I’ve never been back to him but there have been such raves about him here that I want to. I’m recently vaccinated and have planned a trip to Joshua Tree for next week. Looked up Deron to make a stop in Palm Springs on the way. But he seems to have moved to Wyoming! Anyone know if this is just a visit? Checking out the the local options it seems like PS is filled with...weird guys. Crazy-long hair or septum rings or bizarre facial hair. And while I don’t mind an older man, a masseur for me is part fantasy so I prefer a hot guy in his prime - which probably means younger than me, masculine, muscular and skilled. Because it is upsetting to you when someone is deemed straight but might not be, I suggest you reconsider how you describe someone who is transgender. “Shemale” is offensive because it implies that someone who identifies as female should, in your estimation, be derided as some hybrid being.

The CDC says vaccinated people can gather indoors, and grandparents can hug their grandchildren! But I haven’t seen much about sex or, for that matter, sensual massage. Now that I’m half-vaccinated and thinking about who I will book next month, I am wondering aloud: Should I ask a masseur if he’s vaccinated? And, if he says yes, and I believe him, do we just go maskless and do what we would normally do? I’m coming at this from the place of caution that I’ve been in all year: I know there are still unknowns about the vaccines and the variants; and we do know that people can still get Covid with a vaccination but it shouldn’t get serious enough to send you to the hospital. So...I still don’t wanna get it. Curious how other prudent folks will approach this. I’m kind of inclined to host the massage in my backyard for “ventilation” and, well, I’m unsure from there. Masks? The feelings are natural. You just have to learn how to keep them in their place. It’s important to remember that the things you’re imagining about him are made up. Sure, they’re based on your interactions, but no one is ever the person we imagine them to be. You have to put in the time and energy to get to know people. My point is that the more you consciously remind yourself that he’s not actually all the things you’re projecting onto him, the more you’ll be willing to accept him as a nice guy who massages you. That way you can enjoy those sessions and open yourself up to meeting someone else who is more likely to share your feelings.

Who is interested in keeping a client who gets upset at not receiving a reply all day? He could have been traveling or booked.

There are so many things about this that I do not understand, starting with the barber’s affected choreography. But also why would he spread this greasy stuff in the guy’s hair then immediately massage his face - that is not good for the skin. This seems like the opposite of relaxing to me.

Sounds like a terrible combination.

That’s pretty much the point of this forum: to spread the word on whether ads fulfill their promise. Evidently this one does not. If that upsets you because you have had a different experience, then voice it. If it upsets you because you are the advertiser, hopefully it will prompt some self-reflection and perhaps improvement on the service. Keep us posted!
