I'm baffled by the psychological need that overpowers individuals (other than those in the biz) with the desire to display themselves to the masses in such a base manner. The first casualty was obviously common sense for a high-profile media personality to engage in such a way on a social media platform. I wish him well for a full and timely recovery but asking an employer to absorb behavior of this nature is asking a lot.

Totally agree. I find "full monty" images more off-putting than alluring. When I was "on the grid," my good times were found in those who smiled with their eyes as well as their lips, those who did not just put themselves into my arms but also relaxed in my arms. I don't believe gay men have stopped being fun. The sensitivity to certain veins of humor extends well beyond gay men, and for good reason. Humor has evolved/devolved along with society per se, which has become more openly offensive, defensive and confrontational. Today it is very common for "humor" to be weaponized with pejoratives and vulgarities, aided by the convenience, expanse, and anonymity provided by social media platforms. There was a time when professional comedians would create sanitized routines for general public venues (radio, television, mixed live audiences (women, children, clergy) and create more risqué and pointed routines for nightclubs or private gatherings. I remember hearing actress Ann Sothern phrasing it beautifully when she said that when she was working, "humor was more innocent."

I understand the appeal, but it's the other one that catches my fancy.
