    Christmas

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. A liturgical feast central to Christianity, Christmas preparation begins on the First Sunday of Advent and it is followed by Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night.

Veterans Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with holidays in several countries, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which also occur on the anniversary of the end of World War I.

  8. No… there is not for this year.
  9. Thank you to everyone who had helped. It’s greatly appreciated! I make the annual payment for the site’s hosting and forum software in October (this helps reduce the overall costs), so I’m rebuilding the fund for next year. This site is such a wealth of information due to the contributions of everyone here. It would not be what it is without our members and moderators. So thank you to everyone who has supported us whether it be financially or through your participation. I am humbled each day that I login and see so many new posts and new ideas being shared.
  10. You can only edit a post for the first 24 hours after it was submitted by clicking the 3 dots to the right of the post and choosing "Edit". We had people abusing the edit feature, so it had to be restricted. We tried to make the amount of editing time reasonable to give people time to think about what they said and have a chance to change it themselves if necessary. In the mean time, if you can no longer edit a post, feel free to report it to the moderators (see the screen shot above for the "Report" button). Simply choose "Update Content" as the report type and in the comment field explain what you would like to edit.
  11. As long as there was no political commentary with the images being posted and the image matches the theme of the gallery (pictures that prominently feature men others may consider sexy/good looking), we've historically not taken issue. However I do reserve the right to remove content if it is determined not to meet the spirit of the gallery. And if I believe someone to be abusing this thread, I also reserve the right to remove content as well.
  12. Alright…. I’ve cleaned up enough political posts from this topic. Time for a break.
  13. My phone is being blown up as I’m out at a Halloween party. Rather than sit here and hand out a ton of warnings, I’ve hidden everything posted in the past 24 hours and am hanging up the pizza sign.
  14. The search index rebuild is almost complete at 99%. I've taken a few keywords and compared them to the number of results now vs earlier. It appears to have worked as I'm picking up a lot more results. So give search a try again!
  15. I’ve started a rebuild of the search index to see if that fixes it.
  16. This is not able to be picked per user. I've suggested it to the software developers, but we'll see if anything happens with it. It definitely won't make it into the next major 5.0 release as it's feature locked and being beta tested only to address bugs.
  17. There was emergency maintenance happening with our hosting provider. You might see intermittent availability for a while.
  18. Make sure you are in the right context. When you search, you could only be searching the specific topic, or a specific forum.
  19. We're not going to play these games. Especially with a bunch of brand new accounts.
  20. Yes, they do. I assume they google their username and when this site turns up, they see the comments. For certain names, our site is ranked higher for it than the profile itself. (I did not realize I was actually that good at Search Engine Optimization!) There are times when someone does not like what is said about them and the threat of lawsuits come out and how I'm personally slandering them, etc.
  21. Yeah... I'm pretty south of where the major part is supposed to be. The biggest worry around here is honestly flooding. With all of the rain we had last week and the anticipated inbound rain, it's most likely going to be the biggest problem.
  22. Moderators cannot do this. Admins technically can do it from the database but it’s a pain in the neck. Unless a PM is reported to us for some reason, we don’t see/care about private messages. Most likely the person who sent it in the first place deleted their message.
  23. I received both my flu and updated covid shot yesterday at my local CVS in Wilton Manors. I was in and out in 10 minutes and have a $5 off CVS coupon to boot. No issues outside of the normal soreness at the injection site. I rolled over in the middle of the night and rolled right back over a second later when my arm said "NOPE! Not tonight... Not in the mood honey."
  24. I'm going to add my two cents here... this site has always operated under the premise that we are gentlemen. I expect us to behave as such. This site welcomes various and diverse view points, but at the same time we expect people to be respectful and to act as adults. If you can't express yourself as a gentleman, don't be surprised if you find yourself on a timeout from the site.
  25. As someone who lived in DC for a long time, his ad comes and goes. He's been around for several years and seems to do this as a side hustle for a bit and then gone for awhile. I did reach out to him, but he started ignoring my messages while we were planning a date/time. So I can’t comment beyond that.
