Wanting to wait until you are there to discuss could also mean that he is willing to do it, but not for the base rate and will upsell. Advising you of that before the massage starts is preferable to doing so once things have progressed to a certain point during the session.

No recent experience but I saw him a couple of years ago in Miami and thought he was great. He saw me on short notice and gave a great massage, Really nice and fun guy.

Do you need to keep your arm in a sling or do you just have a cast on the wrist/arm but otherwise have unrestricted movement? If you are able to lay face down on a massage table with your arm by your side then I don’t see why you would need a masseur with any special “expertise.” Of course, not knowing the full details it’s hard to assess or give recommendations.
