My local supermarket - family owned independent - basically has all its usual stuff and normal crowds. What I did notice was that all of the flour and baking supplies were almost sold out. That worried me a bit, about people's perspectives that this might be a long haul.

There was no flour, brown sugar, white sugar, or sugar substitute when I went to the store this weekend. I went to 3 separate stores to find it. Nothing. I found that odd...

I don't think the panic buying is over yet, at least not where I am. I went in the morning, at my usual time, and it was an experience that I've never quite seen before in my lifetime. No carrots, potatoes, onions, bananas, red meat of any kind, chicken, pork, butter, pasta, pasta sauce, flour, sugar, eggs, cheese, yogurt, frozen meat of any kind, canned vegetables of any kind, rice, beans, frozen potatoes, etc. I literally found myself buying things I've never bought before just to have things to eat. Worst case scenario I can survive on cereal lol

Any crazy runs on cottage cheese in your area with the COVID19 inspired panic buying?

Yes - none at my store both times that I have tried to purchase it. ALL of it gone, low fat, full fat, small containers, large containers...nothing.

It is bad manners for many reasons, not the least of which is eventually what ultimately happened - your invited guest is uncomfortable! There is a time and place for coupons...but trying to sneak in a coupon to avoid paying a full bill for an invited guest in this situation is not okay.

Bad manners to attempt to use a coupon while offering to treat someone to dinner! Save it to use another time!
