I have been one of the "recovering" group for decades. My many drug/alcohol addiction have ravaged my life in many ways, ie: multiple overdoses, diverting controlled substances, lying to health providers, (I was good at this), lying to family and friends, going to prison for 2 1/2 years, and a marriage ending of over 40 years. And yet, I came away with a former wife and 5 children who still love me, a job that I love, and I believe my patients love me. I found great friends and someone to love the forum.
Sooo, where I'm I going with this little personal epilogue?
I believe that it's our power, and our power alone,
to make the decision to become and abstain from our addictions. In the throes of using, that power starts to reduce. We may have to be aided for a few days, but once the fog
starts to lift, tbat power returns to me. Regarding support mtgs. I am an atheist. Always new it from when I could question it. I also at intervals, one for about 2 1/2 yrs, I attended a support group. It was really easy on my non-belief side. I didn't use the word God
and didn't say the Lord's prayer. So why did I go? There were a group of 6 or so that are great people that I simply liked. Good, kind, bright, and not bible thumpers! I will use a quote from one of the members. He was a staunch AA supporter and had been clean for over 40 years. His comment one day... "I don't care how anyone gets clean. If they want to get off the booze, and we can help them, we should." That's what I think support groups should be about!!!
How anyone decides to take on their addictions, will be a matter of choices. AND, constantly weighing your own definition of wants and needs.
My personal saga could fill volumes. I won't, but to say this. A therapist that I believe to be one of the best said, " I truly believe if you hadn't found drugs, you would have killed yourself." I hadn't seen the toddler I care for about a week. When I was getting him dressed after his bath, we were laughing a lot over goofy things. He stopped for a few seconds, leaned over and just rested his head on my chest for several seconds, and then gave me a mess of kisses on my cheek. I'm still a bit overwhelmed. As Julie Andrews said, (only using guy), "How lucky can a guy get?"
All may good thoughts to those that want to leave there addictions in the past, bravo to those who found their answers!

I'm celebrating three years being with the same escort. He was my first escort as well as being my first male/male experience of any kind. Add to that, I started hiring late in life.
It's funny when you mention being "clean." I was so anxious I didn't have to worry about that. I spent a lot of time sitting on the porcelain throne day's before.
I started out hiring for extended weekends. I have never regretted it. You mentioned you like and respect the gentleman. Have you spent time with him? Someone gave me advice which I took.
    1) Take a chance and put yourself in his hands and follow his lead.
    2) I wouldn't think it would be 12 hrs of unending raucous sex?. I would think you would have time for the other things you would like.
    3) Do think about talking with him and going over your concerns. I did and it helped.
    4) As far as sleeping arrangements. I book a room with two beds. I tend to snore at intervals. So he ends up being more tolerant than me. He also likes to sleep much later than me. So, I usually go and get coffee and people watch.
    5) In any encounter, it breaks down to being tolerant and somewhat intuitive for the other person.
    6) And, don't forget to keep you sense of humor!!!
You certainly can PM if you'd like. Can share a few things and some laughs! WG2

I would certainly recommend Raul. His acceptance of EVERONE is inherent. His smile is both sexy, erotic, and calming. His sensual abilities run the gamut according to the clients wishes. I would recommend giving him a call, and explaining your friends needs and wishes. Rand

Now are you guys ready to be appalled about how retarded my entry into gay sex was. I first had sex with another man when I was 61 years of age. I flew to San Francisco, stayed at the Stanford Court hotel and got together with --- now are you ready --- STEVEN KESSLAR.

I had my annual physical yesterday, with my PCP whom WOW, (walks on water). We both good heartedly banter about a number of issues when we meet. On the inside of his exam door, he had the cover of a recent Time magazine: "Eat Butter." As I left, he gave me a copy of what the docs are passing out to patients as they leave clinics in my network. There are many comments, so I'll pick out a few. Interesting, and such an abrupt turn a round.

1)Eat MORE natural whole food fats (even saturated) (such as in butter, (non-hydrogenated lard, bacon, sausage, olive oil, tree-nut oils, heavy cream, full fat cheese, full whole milk yogurt, avocado, eggs (any, including red meat, pork, fowl, fish, wild game)--stay AWAY from "low fat or non-fat."

2)**(AVOID man made/processed fat: margarine, safflower/canola/vegtable/peanut/soybean/corn oils, Crisco (crystalized cottonseed oil) store bought mayonnaise)--These CAUSE heart disease, stroke, and CANCER. These fats when heated break down into checmicals, including FORMALDEHYDE!

    3) Eat more like you grand--parents ate----they didn't have margarine, Crisco, or other vegtable oilproducts, didn't eat anywhere near the sugar and white flower products that we consume, and ate more natural whole food fat.

There is more, but some of the highlights. Looks like like food tide is changing again!!! I have been seeing these articles pop up recently here and there, but it appears we may be seeing more of the research studies. Credible I sure hope!
