whatsinaname got a reaction from CuddleBuddy in Your go to source to find massuers
I pretty much only go for people who are at least on masseurfinder. A lot of guys on RM give the vibe that you should be paying just by virtue of being touched by a sexy man, and a lot of their reviews here seem to paint the same picture. I almost always would prefer a session from someone who is licensed/trained. I want a quality massage and anything beyond that is welcomed but not expected

whatsinaname got a reaction from hrlmguy in 1 year independent, hit a wall with client retention & mark
You should probably offer 60 minute sessions. I understand the pride in your work, but if your retention is only 20% then most of your current clients probably want someone to "fix" them in one session and/or it's tough to commit to coming back repeatedly for $165 a session. I think one hour is enough to get one half of the body (top/bottom or front/back) really thoroughly and that could be added to your post-session script as "let's spend the next time on your other half and see what is helping you best."
Also do you have a google business page? Offer discounts/extra time for filling out reviews or referrals. Most people find you by searching generic things like "massage near me" or referrals from their friends.
I'm also going to be candid and add that this forum is probably not a great place to ask for this sort of advice because most of the men here want handjobs during their sessions which I would guess given your focus as a therapist is not something you offer.

whatsinaname got a reaction from Jacob_b in How much personal real-life information do you share?
I only go for massages (and even then, those that lean more therapeutic) so maybe it's less... risky? I'll pretty much answer any question they have for me. I'm not really talkative during sessions though so I doubt I'd just say stuff out of the blue.

whatsinaname got a reaction from Rob Toronto in What is a Fair Up Charge for Therapeutic to Sensual?
I'm sure this opinion will be unpopular here but you're asking someone to do something illegal so what is "fair" isn't decided by you, the client, but rather the therapist. "What is it worth to risk my license/business/etc" and they set their prices accordingly.
Also, there are plenty of people who get massages that are strictly therapeutic, just maybe not on this forum.

I don't. If they happen that's great, but if not that's fine too. I always prioritize getting a good massage

whatsinaname got a reaction from soloyo215 in Do providers ever offer free sessions or is it marketing?
I recently saw a provider for a massage that evolved into more than that. I don't know if he was just being nice but he said he'd give me a free session next time. Would you as a provider ever suggest that or is it just to get someone to rebook? I would rebook regardless and pay him anyway but maybe it was just flattery

Photos with an AI filter are so fucking corny I typically skip the profile. Also it's pretty easy to tell when a bio is written with AI assistance too which is somehow even worse.

whatsinaname got a reaction from la_connor in Providers that only offer therapeutic on rentmasseur.com
Wouldn't it be more awkward if you did that and then later on revealed you were asking without him knowing it was you? I would honestly just text him and say "hey it's x from the spa, I saw your ad online." Even if it is just therapeutic, I'm sure he would appreciate pocketing all the money instead of having the spa take a large amount of it.

whatsinaname got a reaction from Wings246 in What's with all the beards?
While I disagree with this I did make myself laugh by imagining someone going to a barbershop and requesting a circumcision

whatsinaname got a reaction from TonyDown in Should I hire the same guy for massage?
If you want a strictly therapeutic massage there are plenty of places and practitioners where you can receive it. It sounds like this person made you very uncomfortable during your session by disrespecting your boundaries that you already made clear. I would honestly look elsewhere at this point. If you go back it is possible the provider will take it as they did nothing wrong and keep doing it.
