Having my own dog walking/training/boarding business for 25 years, I love this thread and the stories. I once tried to hook up with a guy, while I was staying at a clients house for several weeks! I am late to this conversation….but I have found the responses so helpful and interesting, that I want to respond with my own journey. After initial texts or calls with a perspective provider, I can sense my excitement and anticipation for our encounter, to overtake me a bit. I am tempted to text them on a regular basis, and start thinking about my upcoming adventure. Any communication from my provider, just adds to these feelings. Frankly, much has to do with being bored with my wife, and the need for intimacy with a man. I definitely need to control and reign in my obsessive tendencies towards my providers. I am finding your approach to work well for me, as well. Here is my intro: Hi I am a 64 year old chub (6’ 2”) 285lbs. closeted, married to wife for 25 year. I agree completely DenverDad. You should pay provider for their time, no matter how you spend it with them. I generally book for 3 hours. I enjoy the BFE, so that usually entails eating a meal together, which I pay for. I do respect you and your profession. I realize your normal expenses for hotels, food, transportation are rising considerably. So, you have the right to charge a fee that covers all your expenses and makes a good profit for yourself. But, you have to realize that your clients living costs are rising just as much. So, some of your clients may have to cut back on their discretionary spending. Because I am retired, I will not be able to hire an escort as often. As the economy slows, more clients will be cutting back. So, providers might need to adjust their rates, to retain their regular clientele. It is an economic reality. This does not mean that I do not respect or appreciate my providers. Frankly, I have given them very generous gifts, tips on a regular basis. I consider these men my friends. I am extremely fond of them! Please do NOT accuse me of being disrespectful to my providers!

I understand your point. You can charge a rate that works for you. Other escorts do have the right to charge a fee, that maybe less than yours, for a number of reasons. In a highly competitive market, with cost of living costs soaring, and the economy faltering, providers will need to be willing to adjust their rates to accommodate and retain their clients. That is an economic reality, for providers and clients.

You are so sure of yourself. I am amazed that a twenty something who has only been escorting for a short time, has so much knowledge on what every other provider in every part of the country should be charging for their services? And frankly, your condescending and arrogant attitude about the age and looks of the provider, seem to be quite judgmental. Please show some honor and respect for your fellow escorts.

You made some good points Cuteebrazilian on your high costs in the US. I now realize your out of pocket expenses are more than I had anticipated. You certainly have every right to charge the market rate, in every city you travel to. I do respect all escorts, that give an excellent experience to their providers. But, as a client, I am finding the higher rates being charged, are causing me to cut back dramatically on regularly hiring. If other clients like myself are decreasing their hiring, and being hit by increasing personal expenses, in addition to the increasing number of available escorts, who are sub par……that is concerning for clients and providers.

I find all of the stories in this thread to be incredibly helpful and inspirational. Being a 64 year old, closeted gay man, to all family and friends, and married to my wife for 25 years, we have no children. All of my family and friends are conservative evangelical Christians. I truly have felt alone in this struggle with my sexuality. It is my two providers, who have been supportive and kind, to an older man, exploring his true sexuality. I am beyond grateful for this awesome online community of men who are braver, more gifted and better men, than I will ever be. Initially, I would say 20 % grap my attention. After looking closely and doing research it goes down to 5%. Austin does have its fair share of attractive providers. Thanks for the tip on Vancouver.
