Agreed about saving your sanity and booking a car from the city to Sayville. It's a small price to avoid a lot of bullshit. Fire Island is what gays have when they can't or won't afford the Hamptons or a shore house. For the price of a house share, I'd personally rather go to South America, Asia or Europe. That said, it's life in the gay bubble, which many enjoy and want. I'm not one of those people. My real issue with FI remains that many people who go don't cut the ultra-competitive Manhattan shit and just relax. There's always this underlying current of one upmanship that tends to ruin the vacation vibe fast. Sidenote: It's what I still like about Key West... Although it's a lot less gay than it used to be, the island is still very much an island. People don't give a shit about your money, cars, jets or vacation houses.

Advice about what may connote a coded threat.

You're anonymous, right? This person hasn't sent anything to your home address or made mention of knowing you personally? I wouldn't worry until you need to. The sky is not yet falling. -
Where did Spilling Tea come from ?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to SouthOfTheBorder's topic in The Lounge
She doesn't get it quite right. It's not 'tea' as in the drink, but 'T' as in 'the truth.' It's not always just about gossip. Ultimately, it's drag idiom that eventually made its way into mainstream lexicon. Shows like Drag Race have cemented a lot of that, so now we get to hear Midwestern housewives sounding like pageant girls. -
Nonsmoker? Is smoking (tobacco) still a thing nowadays?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in The Lounge
Vegas is still woefully behind when it comes to smoking. That whole city is just... Unhealthy. -
The term 'boys' or 'bois' is no longer a smart idea to use on this kind of public board. Be smart. Don't open yourself or management up to problems.

It's as if you never noticed that new vehicles that were $7k in 1976 are now $40k+ Or, that gasoline was 75-85 cents a gallon through much of the '80s. Now $4/gal all-in seems cheap. No amount of hemming and hawing will stop prices- of anything- from increasing. That is the nature of economics and the simple ugly truth of inflation. You do always have a choice: Either play the game or get off the ferris wheel altogether. In your original post you turned the phrase average joes... But truth be told, most of this industry doesn't cater or function around those with minimal funds. This is a recreational activity for gentleman who have the discretionary income to purchase what they want, when they want it. That doesn't have to mean filthy rich, but certainly financially secure enough to not sweat the single hourly meet.

When A Former Coworker turns up with an ad
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to jeezifonly's topic in The Lounge
This is the right advice. Don't be that guy. No one likes that guy. -
I think what's most telling/revealing in this thread are posters who are dictating what rates should be for another human being. How this rate is too much, period. That a cap for an escort should exist. Sorry kids... That's not going to happen. And as much as you don't like it, prices aren't backsliding down to when you did most of your hiring in the early-aughts. Time marches forward and so does cost of living. Like I said before, if it's too much, move on. Keep it simple. Don't show your hand and make it personal. That's a classic ham-and-egger move.

Woman weighed like baggage before flight!
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in The Lounge
Tall people don't waste more fuel and effect overall weight & balance... Overweight people do. That's the bottom line when flying in smaller aircraft or helicopters. However, larger people who can't fit into one seat in commercial aircraft should be required to purchase a second seat. -
I'd usually agree, but seeing as this board is now the de facto place for clients to come and chew the fat, I think that letting people complain is probably the best course of action. It's just human nature. While it won't actually do or change anything in the industry, posting this is, symbolically, a way to clear someone's own personal blockages... At least for a little while. People just want to be heard. Even if it's in an echo chamber.

Late to the reply game on this one, but I agree 100%. The show is unreal (literally, but beautifully done). I figured it would look fake, but seeing is believing: The avatars were scarily lifelike. The audience buys in totally. I saw the show in December. Would also recommend springing for the VIP experience pre-show.

When the provider shows up in my social media...
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to alrajee's topic in Questions About Hiring
This is good reminder that no matter how cloaked you may think you are, you're not. Not really. If you have a lot of lose, this isn't the level at which you should be playing the game. This advice goes for both sides. -
$400 is too much... For you. And that's fine. But don't speak for the entire industry, especially the working guys who can and do charge that rate without any push back.

Is Onlyfans affecting the escort business?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to musclelover's topic in The Lounge
People seem to think that OF guys and gals are all making bank. They're not. Very few are earning real money... Career money. And many of them stretch the truth about what they're actually making. To make six-figures, you need to post multiple videos a month which takes time, money, legal contracts and effort. It's a full-time job if you're doing it in-house and expensive if you're fielding it out for a quick turnaround. It's not a negative game changer to or for the escort industry. Really an apples and oranges comparison. OF suffers from a fickle audience and easy burnout from repetitive videos that can eventually have a sameness to them. As the song goes, 'there's nothing like the real thing.' The world's oldest profession remains the default defacto. -
The article reports the PHOTOGRAPHERS were the ones in pursuit, as well as the ones who jumped curbs, drove on sidewalks and ran red lights. Nowhere does it mention the Prince or his people being the aggressors. And he needs to 'be deported' why?

Eurovision is a guilty pleasure. I never miss it. Nice to see Peacock picking it up over the last few years.

RM is a mix of serious clients, time-wasters and fellow escorts mistaking it for Grindr. A well-writ autoreply saves time, trouble and patience. If someone can't send a quick email over regarding their interest in meeting, it's not meant to be. For me, it's been a huge help in consolidating communication to one specific place.

Will doxyPEP create antibiotic resistant STDs?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in Men's Health
Many, yes, but not always. Condoms are still an important part of the equation. -
Will doxyPEP create antibiotic resistant STDs?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in Men's Health
Where did I say that resistance happened in our bodies? I promise you I didn't. I also never said or implied that 'all' sexually active gay men need to be on doxyprep. I said it was simply one tool in an arsenal. I do fully understand antibiotic resistance. I don't disagree that resistance is becoming more of an issue in society, but for a sex worker or someone who's putting themselves at a higher risk, you have to weigh your options and risk factors. I appreciate this discussion. It's an important thing to keep on top of around here. -
Will doxyPEP create antibiotic resistant STDs?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in Men's Health
Did you not read what was posted above? Gonorrhea isn't even treated with the class of antibiotic that doxy is in. It's really a moot point. Antibiotic resistance is per class of specific drug. At longer-term low dosage doxy, the resistance level is incredibly low. It's nearly zero when you follow a more conservative doxyprep regime of only taking it post-72 hours from last sexual activity. This is a shades of grey discussion. Blanket statements are harmful to those who could benefit from this regime. You're in a sex-worker/sex-positive forum here and for many of us, this is a helpful medical discussion to have with our doctors. -
I still find it wordy, witty and intelligent. It's not a show you only pay half-attention to when watching. I like how they're wrapping up the story by moving into the future, while also working through her past. It's an efficient way to resolve everything. Amazon continues to spend a mint on this show: The production value is outstanding.

They've been on TDF since opening. That never bodes well. It didn't get great reviews when it opened. I just don't think that Wayne Cliento was the right choice for director. The cast is talented, but many of them aren't masters of the technique in the way that the performers in the original or even Fosse were.

Creatine. Aminos. Beta-Alanine. Caffeine. These help assist workouts, fat-burning and muscle building immensely. SARMS if you want to go stronger. Full-on gear if you have the compunction. There are options out there. You just have to figure out how deep you're willing to dive.
