If I remember correctly, the controversy was that his performance for Sean Cody was nominated for a People's Choice Award. Sadly, he lost that year to Susan Lucci.

Incentives to book ?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to SouthOfTheBorder's topic in Questions About Hiring
People here have suggested this before, but honestly, it's not something most successful escorts would jump at. To me, the idea of this sort of rebate system makes the whole situation feel hyper-commoditized. However, this might work well for guys who are hurting for business, a stable of regulars or simply work hourlies as their standard. -
TKTS, TDF, TodayTix app, digital lotteries and the good ol' fashioned showing up ten minutes before curtain and seeing what deals the BO is willing to make.

Having actually seen Shucked, I can confirm that sack is nowhere near a five-pounder. Three is being generous.
-
The Shucked number was the very definition of ten pounds of shit in a three pound sack.

Balancing the risk and rewards of sex
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to MaybeMaybeNot's topic in Men's Health
This is wise fucking advice (literally and figuratively). Regularly scheduled 10-panel STD testing and throat/ass swabs should become your norm if you're very sexually active and not always playing using PrEP and condoms. If you can swing it, every 30-45 days. Better you know immediately. -
Yeah... Going for cheap sex tourism in Rio is a fantastic idea right now. Sadly, this story seems to be being told more frequently. It's as if we don't expect pretty desperate people to do desperate things. While I love Rio and have been many, many times, it's a city I wouldn't currently visit based on feeling the need to constantly look over my shoulder. That's not a holiday for me. Last time I was there- about 4 months ago- I stayed at the Palace and watched three separate tourists get robbed over the course of a few days. Always mid-afternoon and right in front of the hotel. In all of my visits, I'd never felt Rio was as 'lawless' as it felt this time.

As per usual, correlation is not causation. The US also spends more on defense than the next 10 countries down the list, yet that doesn't truly make us any more safe. Throwing gobs of money at a problem only works with some things: I wish I could say what the immediate solution to lower life expectancy is, but tbh, it's really a slurry of existing generational/systemic issues combined with a difficult healthcare system.

Holy shit, you're barking up the wrong tree.

longer appointments for first time meetings

Two hours is still not a ton of time. I'm sure you'll be fine. -
You mean Snozzberry. 😀

I thought it was entertaining. Not as 'scary' or jarring as The Pillowman, but not a bad show either. I'll give any show with Laurie Metcalf a shot... She's super talented.

Good ol' fashioned Facetune. The sharpness of the face vs the rest of the image is a dead giveaway.

Advice about what may connote a coded threat.

Like I do, you ignore the message and then block them from contacting you further. Problem solved 👍 A real troll starves to death when they don't get the attention that they crave. -
Where did Spilling Tea come from ?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to SouthOfTheBorder's topic in The Lounge
Although loaded with sugar, I'm a fan of Hong Kong milk tea. -
Agreed about saving your sanity and booking a car from the city to Sayville. It's a small price to avoid a lot of bullshit. Fire Island is what gays have when they can't or won't afford the Hamptons or a shore house. For the price of a house share, I'd personally rather go to South America, Asia or Europe. That said, it's life in the gay bubble, which many enjoy and want. I'm not one of those people. My real issue with FI remains that many people who go don't cut the ultra-competitive Manhattan shit and just relax. There's always this underlying current of one upmanship that tends to ruin the vacation vibe fast. Sidenote: It's what I still like about Key West... Although it's a lot less gay than it used to be, the island is still very much an island. People don't give a shit about your money, cars, jets or vacation houses.

You're anonymous, right? This person hasn't sent anything to your home address or made mention of knowing you personally? I wouldn't worry until you need to. The sky is not yet falling. -
Where did Spilling Tea come from ?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to SouthOfTheBorder's topic in The Lounge
She doesn't get it quite right. It's not 'tea' as in the drink, but 'T' as in 'the truth.' It's not always just about gossip. Ultimately, it's drag idiom that eventually made its way into mainstream lexicon. Shows like Drag Race have cemented a lot of that, so now we get to hear Midwestern housewives sounding like pageant girls. -
Nonsmoker? Is smoking (tobacco) still a thing nowadays?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in The Lounge
Vegas is still woefully behind when it comes to smoking. That whole city is just... Unhealthy. -
The term 'boys' or 'bois' is no longer a smart idea to use on this kind of public board. Be smart. Don't open yourself or management up to problems.

It's as if you never noticed that new vehicles that were $7k in 1976 are now $40k+ Or, that gasoline was 75-85 cents a gallon through much of the '80s. Now $4/gal all-in seems cheap. No amount of hemming and hawing will stop prices- of anything- from increasing. That is the nature of economics and the simple ugly truth of inflation. You do always have a choice: Either play the game or get off the ferris wheel altogether. In your original post you turned the phrase average joes... But truth be told, most of this industry doesn't cater or function around those with minimal funds. This is a recreational activity for gentleman who have the discretionary income to purchase what they want, when they want it. That doesn't have to mean filthy rich, but certainly financially secure enough to not sweat the single hourly meet.

When A Former Coworker turns up with an ad

This is the right advice. Don't be that guy. No one likes that guy.
