Help me select a Broadway show, please!

Driver Dorothy Bruns recently entered a plea of not guilty I hope they put that bitch away for a long, long time. -
Boys in the Band comes to Broadway
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to + FreshFluff's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
Welcome to the new normal of theatre going: Where a B-list TV actor is box office gold and an audience can't wait to draw attention... To themselves. It's also why I pick what I see more carefully these days. Three Tall Women isn't going to attract that crowd. Neither does My Fair Lady. -

Exactly. And it's why I'm totally uninterested in ever seeing him onstage again. He's one-note. His understudy, Matt McGrath, is a superior actor. I'd have loved to see him go on for Parsons during the absence. -

Would he do better if he were wearing a pair of Isotoner slippers? (bonus points for those who know what I'm referring to) -
Saw it again this past weekend. I stand a changed mind on Ambrose. She's an entirely different Eliza now. From previews to the frozen show, she's giving a much more spitfire performance. Her voice is now confident. Her comedy is landing. Her dramatic stuff was always strong and considering that My Fair Lady is really more of a play with music, the two leads really tear into the script beautifully. Best of all, the audience was dead silent when they needed to be

Eder's current run at 54 Below has been well-reviewed. I saw her new show last Friday night. She did a fair amount of material from the new album, as well as the tried-and-true stuff she's known for. After a long while of being mainly a big stage, symphony performer, Eder is becoming very comfortable in a small room. It's interesting to see. http://theaterpizzazz.com/linda-eder-celebrates-broadway-and-song/

Boys in the Band comes to Broadway

Patti performed for the last six months of her last run with a bad hip. She made it look effortless. After the run was over, she immediately went for a replacement so that she could be ready for her Company run on the West End. That's a true show-person. -
IH remains the largest gay B&B in KW and one of the few left on the island that hasn't gone straight/mixed. It's not as nice or well-designed as Alexander's, but it's got a larger crowd and is a lot more of a party scene. They did a soft refurb on it about six months ago.

Drop Someone Special Who Gets Hemorrhoids?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to + tassojunior's topic in The Lounge
As an aside to this convo, weightlifting doesn't mean automatically dealing with hemorrhoids. Knowing how much to squat and the wide variety of exercises that can build your legs will help someone ever avoid this painful issue. Lifting heavy as you get older is an unwise move. Flexibility is your friend -
Long term doesn't always mean sugar daddy. 90% of the people I spend time with are what I would consider 'long term.' I've been seeing them for 10+ years.

It's a beautiful show. Brilliant writing. And this new season starts off with a bang. https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/tv/a18663685/westworld-season-2-guide/

Premierescorts In Philadelphia?

Tony wouldn't have allowed that. Willam is a friend of mine, but I call bullshit. -
Again, if a cop wants to arrest you, they will find a way to arrest you. Probable cause is a very powerful thing. You can put a disclaimer/asterisk on anything you want: It's not going to save you from being read your Miranda rights. You best bet if you are putting yourself in risky situations is to have the number of a good attorney on speed dial. Momma's Logic always applies: Make good choices and try to decrease your risk if at all possible.

Anyone A Fan Of Professional Wrestling?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to + Avalon's topic in The Lounge
WWE hasn't been interesting since it was WWF. Sadly, many of the old-timers have either killed themselves or overdosed (or are currently addicts). Reminds me of the gay porn industry. -
You are correct. Most people carry a fair amount of positive debt. Escorts are no different. However, that's not accounting for guys who are bought/gifted homes/cars/etc.

It doesn't take privilege: It takes common sense and the discipline to invest. His doubts are his own. Many escorts own multiple homes, have a healthy nest egg and continue to work steadily. It's not rocket science, but it does take some foresight.

I don't see steroid use with this kid at all. He's 5'6 and 135. Those are small stats. I mean, if anything, a little winstrol, but highly doubtful. Perhaps he's just figuring out that he's bipolar or having an incredibly shitty few weeks. These things happen.

It's nearly as rich as people getting bent out of shape over Sierra Boggess doing West Side Story (in concert) in London. SHE'S NOT A LATINA! SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHT! Oh, for fuck's sake...

Sher did a wonderful job of dusting off another classic and making it feel modern: A cliche, yes, but there's no other way to describe it. Paton as Higgins was revelatory. He created his own character, veering away from the Rex Harrison stamp and- for me- stole the show. Ambrose, while charming, did not bring an ease to Eliza that I would have liked to see. Until 'The Rain in Spain,' she missed a lot of the timing to really bring the laughs out of the script. It feels as if she's the kind of actress who needs ample time to warm up the engine before really delivering a blast-off performance. With a character like Eliza, you've got to grab the audience right away... She didn't. However, her singing voice was unexpectedly enjoyable and the sound board operator did her a great justice with some volume/dynamic sweetening in all the right places. Supporting cast: Just hand the TONY to Butz now. It's so satisfying to watch a true showman sell a song like that. Heading back to see it in early May

I was really hoping they would cycle through some more interesting Dollys. Midler seemed fully over it by the end of her first run, much in the same way she performed during the last few months of her Vegas stint.

Spamalot: The School Edition
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to + poolboy48220's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
Agree completely. I rarely see HS productions stick to the book, the staging or the music as intended. Legally, that's a dicey move if you don't have permission... And that's rarely granted. I really dislike HS theater teachers who butcher a production simply because they think they can. It happens a lot. In this age of internet, it's getting tougher for them to get away with it without having their hand slapped by MTI or Tams-Wit (or whomever is licensing out the show). As for the HS versions of shows, I would agree that some shows just aren't suitable for those audiences. Then again, if you can get the writers to agree to butcher their own show in the name of extra income, I suppose that's their prerogative. It is, after all, their baby. I just find it a bit sad. -
