I was reluctant in seeing Anastasia as the reviews were not good, fortunately, I'm not a critic and loved it. This musical ain't just for kids! Most of us already know the story of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and the assassination of the royal family. So, was it possible one child, Anastasia, survived? This production is very lively with a wonderful and talented cast of characters. Excellent musical numbers that left me humming some song, not sure its name but it was catchy. Most impressive was the scenery. You go on an amazing train ride from St. Petersburg to Paris. The depiction of the landmarks along the way was incredible. The dancing was very entertaining, from formal ballroom, to night club, to ballet. And, the costumes were done to perfection. There were 2 young, well behaved, children sitting in front of me. They were mesmerized by this show and were laughing, along with me, at some of the very funny acts. The leads who played Anya, Dmitry, Gleb, Vlad, Countess Lily, and Dowager Empress were excellent! Dimitry, played by Derek Klena, is a hunk. Regardless of what the critics had to say, I'm glad I saw it. Coop

If you were watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, you might have caught a number from Dear Evan Hansen. This musical won 6 Tony Awards &, now, has a new lead. Noah Galvin, from the TV show The Real O'Neal's, has taken over for Ben Platt. Other than Noah, the cast remains the same. Here's the cast singing, "You Will Be Found". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjmwAwMUID8

Today's NY Post features a story of people purchasing their Broadway tickets from scalpers only to find out they were scammed. I've seen these scalpers around TKTS & theaters offering tickets for hard to see shows like Hello Dolly, Hamilton, & Dear Evan Hansen. Tourists are an easy target & often get ripped off. Has anyone had an experience like this? A scam artist was busted for selling nearly $800 in fake tickets to the hit Broadway musical “Dear Evan Hansen,” authorities said Monday as the accused crook was arraigned. Bruno Lisa, 34, allegedly swindled $400 from his first victim for two forged tickets on Nov. 11, 2017, according to the criminal complaint. The accused fraudster ensnared his second mark three days later, selling another pair of bogus tickets for $398 to the Tony Award-winning musical, the complaint states. Both victims had their nights ruined when the Music Box Theatre turned them away and reported the scam to cops. Last Sunday, Det. Thomas Schick arrested Lisa on the corner of East 39th Street and Madison Avenue and found two more forged tickets in his jacket pocket, court papers charge.

@RyanDean. The play runs till Jan 15, 2018. As @foxy & I mentioned, it's better than we thought. There was no line @ TKTS. Just remember, there's a separate line for "plays". Ticket cost $48.50. It's in the loft of a small theater. Lots of stairs to climb. I was told there's an elevator. The stage is in the center, so, all seats are good. Bathrooms are in the basement. ;-) Hope you get to see it. Coop

Yes, saw it! The 1 Act, 90 minute play starts out with 3 very handsome naked men relaxing on the bed. They've just had some great sex. We quickly learn that Josh (an actor) and Alex (a student) are married and in an open relationship. They've invited Darius, their younger massage therapist, to join them in bed. At first everything is cool between them but Josh and Darius continue to see each other and start falling in love. At a surprise birthday party Alex learns that Josh is paying Darius' rent and their marriage, based on love, trust, and loyalty, starts to fall apart. In an attempt to save their marriage, Alex tells Josh to end it. A well acted and likable cast. I enjoyed it and, yes, lots of nudity.

As a kid, I always enjoyed the Christmas Show and still do today. As foxy mentioned, the Rockettes are amazing and mesmerizing. Add the organ music, the light show, the orchestra, numerous performances, and you truly have a Christmas spectacular. Also, there's a brief 3D show that has Santa traveling around the world and landing right in front of Radio City. The recreation of the Nativity scene still uses live animals and is done to perfection with a wonderful Christmas story. The Rockefeller Christmas Tree is up, but has scaffolding all around it. The ice skating rink is open and the area is starting to look very festive.

@cany10011 What did you think of the play? I found the dialogue between Arnold (Michael Urie) and Ma (Mercedes Ruehl) to be brilliant and mesmerizing. Drawing on your every emotion. It's plays like these that draw me to Broadway. David (Jack DiFalco), playing the 15 yo (almost 16) old boy soon to be adopted by Arnold, is so likable and talented. Enjoyed every minute he was on stage. The 2 hunks, Ed (Ward Horton) and Alan (Michael Rosen), were amazing in their roles and looked great in their boxers/briefs. What can I say about the talented Laurel (Roxanna Hope Radja). What a roller-coaster role she had to play and pulled it off with such charm, humor, and class. Highly recommended.

What an amazing & well written play. Extremely talented & likable cast. One of Harvey Fierstein's best!

Why do you watch the show?

It's becoming a hard ticket to get as word of this new musical is spreading. The performance I saw was sold out. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought Katrina Lenk & Tony Shalhoub were superb. Excellent cast. One act, 95 min. Stick around after the show, you'll be entertained by the ceremonial band.

Last night's episode introduced us to Jack's young grandson, Skip, who happens to be gay. When Jack's son Elliot asks "Grandpa" Jack to take Skip to his 1st Broadway show, Jack's reaction is priceless. Guest appearances were made by Jane Lynch & Andrew Rannells. They play a married couple who run a camp that's suppose to teach kids to be straight. Good make-out scene between Will & Andrew. A few other laughs like how one sits on a sofa can determine if you are gay but, seriously, Grace needs some better lines. Her character is getting stale.

Oh, yes! I always wanted a mini-Cooper.

Tony winner Ben Platt, who plays Evan Hansen in the Tony winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, was very funny as Will's 23 yo date. The gay history lesson was amusing with the confusion over Stonewall & Stonehedge, plus, the old/new comparisons of coming out. Well done! The line about "Judy Ism" was a hoot. Enjoyed the episode.

That's an amazing cast. JOHN GOLDEN THEATRE 252 W. 45TH ST. On the heels of her triumphant reappearance last season on London’s West End after a 25-year absence, two-time Academy Award winner Glenda Jackson makes her long-awaited return to Broadway alongside three-time Emmy and Tony Award winner Laurie Metcalf and Tony nominee Alison Pill in the Broadway premiere of Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, Three Tall Women. The play also won the New York Drama Critics' Circle and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Play. Two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello directs. SYNOPSIS: Three women of different ages talk about their lives and their relationships with their families. Gradually it emerges that they may all be the same woman. Performances begin February 27

@foxy, The NY Times has an excellent article on Ben Platt & how he prepares for his shows. Didn't realize he was just 23 yo. What an amazing performance he gives. He's my choice for the Tony. When I 1st saw "Dear Evan Hansen" most of my friends had never heard of it, now everyone is talking about it & wants to see it. Same with Ben Platt. He's now a household name. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/05/10/theater/how-ben-platt-beame-the-toast-of-broadway-dear-evan-hansen-tony-awards.html

Tony nominations will be announced on May 2nd... Ben Platt, star of Dear Evan Hansen, is someone I'd expect to be nominated as Best actor in a Musical. He's the reason for seeing this amazing show.

Interesting fact I learned from the play. To show appreciation to the people of Gander, the US sent them a piece of the steel from the World Trade Center. Gander is the only place outside of the US that holds a piece of the WTC.
