Doubt it. Parents paying for college is nowhere near universal; some of my good friends, from good homes, paid their own way through college. I was lucky enough that my parents paid my way. I think once you turn 18, any legal obligation for anykind of support is over.

I do a lot of searching for dog-friendly restaurants, and have gotten to the point where it's a big factor in my decision on where to eat. Allowing dogs on outside patios is somewhat common in Michigan, although it's technically illegal. There's a bill in the Michigan legislature to officially make it legal (if not required). I know of very few restaurants where dogs are allowed inside, none in Michigan that I know of. I've got a pretty impressive collection of chemistry glassware I used for drinking. My favorite is the Florence Flask, that's my nightstand-water pitcher. My younger sister sent me a couple of very large graduated cylinders, I have a picture of my roommate & I drinking beer from them, imitating John Watson's bachelor party in "Sherlock".

I second the vote for Taste of the Wild. I'll mix it up with Merrick Backcountry Raw Select. My dog's kind of a picky eater. And I get canned food (usually from those same brands) that she gets as a treat once a week or so. There are a couple canned brands that, intentionally, include chicken bones. They cook them up enough so they're soft & no danger of splinters, and they say the dogs love the marrow. I flipped out when I saw the first one, emailed them, they explained it. I looked at comments on their site and soooo many of them were from people flipping out over a bone just like I did.

I've often seen images in the various tumblrs I check out of nude bicycling events, and have read about some specific ones. Has anyone ever participated? Honestly, I can't imagine the discomfort. Back when I biked a lot, I did my first 100-mile day wearing just the thin nylon workout shorts popular in the 80's, and it was hell. When I bought my most recent bike, not that I'm not doing long distances like that, I told the guy I was looking for the most comfortable bike I could find. I've got the padded biking shorts (difficult to find in my current size). I can't imagine the pinching & chafing that'd come with riding bare-ass. Picture, because I know it'll get this thread more attention :-)

I was recently out to my group of friends, and one of them & I had gone to one of those mazes cut into cornfields. We were lost, trying to figure out where we were, and my friend kept saying "I know we're just rimming the border of the maze". I finally had to ask him to stop, and asked him to google what the word meant. I don't think he was ready to hear that from me yet.

Well, so far it looks like there are only three masseurs signed up in the US - two in the state of New York, one in the state of NY. :-) I will keep checking & see if it gets more listings.

I got into a confrontation with an accounting teacher in college. Multiple choice question, all answers were pretty bad, I picked what I thought was the best one and he marked it wrong. I talked to him about it and he wouldn't budge. I went to our high school's accounting teacher and he picked the same answer did (along with making the comment "your teacher's an idiot"). I appealed again to the college teacher (omitting the 'idiot' comment) and again he wouldn't budge, and made a snarky comment about "people who get their accounting degrees from matchbook covers". By this time it was a full-on quest, so I brought the question to the Dean of Accounting at the university and he answered the same way I had. When I told the teacher this, he was angry, and then had a full-on shrieking fit at me in front of the class. Fun times.

Finally cooling down in Michigan. Between the heat and the rain-coming-only-on-weekends, it hasn't been one of our best summers.
