  1. As I remember, it wasn't a boycott, just a refusal to call them "French". Wasn't the White House dining room serving "Freedom Fries" for a time?
  2. From the notes in the book, Card did a lot of research on Native American cultures of the time while he was writing it. I have a copy of "1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus", published about 7 years after Card's novel, but have never finished it. Maybe this year on vacation...
  3. One of my favorite books is "Pastwatch", science fiction by Orson Scott Card (and yeah, I know all the stuff about his political views, but I read it before I heard of that). Researchers with machines enabling them to view the past see that Columbus was deliberately manipulated (by other time-travellers?) to divert his attention from a new crusade to liberate Constantinople into his trip to the New World. They determine to further mess around with the past to avoid the exploitation of the New World and its people by Columbus. Much better summary of the book here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastwatch%3A_The_Redemption_of_Christopher_Columbus
  4. I'd love to try that, I wish he lived closer to me.
  5. :-) Because people would think it's about plants? I love archaic words. A friend told me our help desk had left her a message including the phrase "do the needful". I thought that was lovely.
  6. In the time I took me to write that, "The Lounge","The Deli", and "The Gallery" already have new posts.
  7. I usually work my way up the forums from the bottom, reading the new posts on threads I'm interested & marking the individual forum "read" when I'm done, then move on to the next Forum. Some days, I feel like Lucy wrapping chocolates; by the time I've worked my way up to the top, half the forums I've marked are already showing new posts. Thank you all for keeping me well-read :-D
  8. I'm more of a steamroom guy myself, but I've had many fun times in both.
  9. Didn't Stryker film in the era before anyone was using condoms in videos?
  10. Ah, so it's the question of a higher rate implying erotic, then just getting therapeutic. THAT I understand.
  11. I'm not sure I understand the objection. I'd think undraped would be easier for the masseur in all cases, therapeutic or otherwise, as thonglovertx points out, they don't have to be moving the sheet all around. I don't assume that undraped means more is going to happen.
  12. She's very much a teetotaler with regards to alcohol or caffeine. On paper, this relationship doesn't work out.
  13. My dog sleeps in. I can only remember one time in four years that she's woken me up. Normally I get up & start the coffee, and she comes down the stairs about 10 minutes later.
  14. Ty Fox was a gym teacher in real life, fired when his gay porn activities were discovered. Oh, to have been in his locker room...
  15. I'd call him toned.
  16. You don't actually SEE the daddy in this one, but you can see where it's going. Anyone recognize where this is from? https://78.media.tumblr.com/727126a9a01bfcfa067d4a43fb152072/tumblr_otvc9bW0ED1tnuac3o1_540.gif
  17. A gay porn performer had a small part as a bridge officer on the first season of Next Generation, 1986 or thereabouts. I can't remember his name or the episode (shame for a 50-year-long Trekkie). I don't think it was even a speaking part, he may not even have been credited. If I can remember more I'll post, or more likely someone will fill in my considerable blanks.
  18. I think that's it! Amazing work, I bow to you.
  19. There's a Monty Python skit, not one of their most famous ones, where Eric Idle plays an incredibly animated, laughing, screeching talk show host. The second the cameras stop he slumps and stops.
  20. I hired Blake and Jason Branch early 2000's when they were together and I was visiting the East Bay. Very memorable session. I don't think either are involved in porn, escorting, or massage any more.
  21. I saw him a couple years ago and hope to repeat when he makes it to Michigan next week.
  22. both are favorites of mine. I've watched that scene many times.
  23. And the keyboard on a computer fits my fingers better than the one on a phone.
  24. I visited Vancouver for work about 15 years ago. There are a lot of good looking guys in Vancouver. Still...some oddities in his ad copy. "ONLY TOP IN CANADA!!!!" Really? "High tariffs." I'm hoping that doesn't mean what I think it means (he charges top dollar), but I think it does
  25. HAHAHAHA. Why have I never thought of that possibility in the 50-plus years I have watched Jeopardy? I went to a live taping of "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me", the NPR quiz show. Took about two hours; I was just a tiny bit disillusioned that it was edited so that the participants seemed quicker-witted on the broadcast than they really are. They're still funny, but they weren't throwing out those funny responses as quick as the edited show would make you think.
