  1. Doris Day and Judy Garland were born in 1922 Doris was about six weeks older. Judy died on June 22, 1969. Interesting a little.
  2. There are no Russian or other other eastern European men available?
  3. Who would attend beyond friends where she lived and perhaps Liza Minnelli and others connected to the old days of Hollywood.
  4. People with heart problems might want to jog or walk instead, and in snowy Winters, use an indoor track,
  5. Doris Day did not want a funeral, memorial service or grave marker. Her wishes are being honoured.
  6. Yes, but it is important if the person was a teacher, nurse, doctor - had a public profile. As to @Unicorn and his concerns. Yes, it is obvious some people here are wealthy
  7. A successful career is s major accomplishment. Can you uses those skills for activities outside of work? Even if it's just a course in literature, which could open a world of new people, and, more important, new confidence.
  8. I like Doris Day in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much," with Jimmy Stewart. Also "Love Me, Leave Me," a wonderful film. Doris Day was unusually kind to animal. I love her spirit as she grew older!!

  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrvFtj-vALw] Madden plays Elton John's lover in "Rocketman". He is straight, but currently in a "relationship" with a gay man. That is catnip for gay men and some women. Big deal I guess on Internet gossip sites.
  11. Rounds closed over twenty five years ago. Too bad.
  12. There too. My experience was many years ago on the east side of Manhattan, during the day. I was surprised it was still the same.
  13. Why would post at all if I was reluctant. My concern was not remembering the location better, beyond east 39th St
  14. I am not pleased with being called coy. The area I saw several weekend ago was approximately East 39 Street. I forget the cross avenue. But, please walk in that area in late afternoon.
  15. The concert is available on two CDs as well.
  16. I visited the island of Hvar in 2013 just before the season started. Your tour is interesting though. The different is I got to know one island of Croatia fairly well.
  17. I have never flown first class or business to Europe, Asia or Australia. Flown to Europe and back many times. Also to Vietnam and often to New Zealand and/or Australia. My last flight to Europe was to Bosnia via Munich. Before that to Stockholm...
  18. I had flown Christchurch to Sydney, but not in first class.
  19. I flew from Dulles in Washington to Tokyo and then from Tokyo to Sydney. All in coach because it was a frequent flier ticket round trip ticket.
  20. Someone on another site posted an audio of Garland performing at a nightclub in London a few months before she died. The sound is awfully, but I was surprised Judy remembered the words to several new songs. And there is too much conversation with the audience. But, I liked "For Once in My Life" in a new arrangement.
  21. The provider who mentioned a celebrity to me was quite well known and did not need any validation from a client or anyone else.
  22. http://www.lowellsun.com/news/ci_32624325/not-guilty-plea-auto-auction-tragedy-billerica Comments: I attended grade school in Billerica in the 1950s. After reading this article, I tried to contact a few of my grade school teachers. Only one is still alive. But, I was surprised that two teachers became principals and another a vice principal. Possible, I suppose because few others professions were open to women back then. I was most surprised that my 5th grade teacher became a principal, but she needed the money after her husband committed suicide when I was in the 7th grade.
  23. Lady Gaga
  24. Mostly agree with @bostonman. I saw several Boston out of town tryouts of Broadway musicals , including "I Can Get It Wholesale," On a Clear Day I can See Forever," "Funny Girl." "Subways are for Sleeping," "Tovarich." I vaguely knew the songs were often wonderful, but that is it.
  25. My take after reading every post: perhaps many people want the answer from you directly. I understand all the possible problems for you in answering the question on the phone. But you are providing a personal interaction if all goes well.
