  1. "Hello Dolly" cast and crew and audiences of soldiers survived a 1965 tour of Vietnam after playing the United States and Toyko.
  2. I suggest Ben Platt and his boyfriend try a virtual "I Do! I Do" the two character musical from the mid 1960s. The musical is written for a straight couple. The song are not greatly memorable and it is known as a vehicle for long established stars. As Trump often says, what do you have to lose?"
  3. How do you suggest people with multiple fractured ribs can go back to work without medication? Or just begin to resume normal every day Life? I was able to attend the US Open Tennis Tournament as planned, but with medication and a friend drove, I did not.
  4. Why? I take the amount in the bottle and then stop. People may not need a reminder. I don't.
  5. I live near what is Franklintown in Philadelphia, an urban renewal project in the 1970s. A close friend lived there, but moved in after condemnation, so wasn't eligible for federal relocation benefits (up to $4000). But, for years he paid quite low rent in an apartment building just a bit outside the boundaries of the project. The overwhelming majority of tenants and homeowners were white. Mostly elderly single room occupancy men. My friend is an artist and also does commercial art work. The younger people tended to be students and artists, living in Center City Philly. The Barnes Foundation is just outside the project as well. It is sad though to see that old neighborhood completely gone. Too much vacant land.
  6. Did Scott appear in these so called X rated films? Near the end of his acting career, he was mostly naked in a film about an Italian family in New York City. Film: "I Love NY"
  7. Yes. That is standard procedure for fractured ribs.
  8. Money only matters later in life if it is a bit unexpected. Example: a surprise, but deserved military disability from the usually undependable VA.
  9. I was in an accident in Italy 15 years ago and fractured multiple ribs. I flew home from Milan without any medication. The Italian airline was wonderful, helped lift my luggage and made changing planes at JFK easy. Very great full to Alitalia and friends in Philadelphia.
  10. I've gone yachting in New Zealand and Southern California: who is paying attention to uh.... steering?
  11. The CD "Ella in Berlin" is the concert where Ms. Fitzgerald forgot the words to the song Mac the Knife
  12. Ella Fitzgerald said fairly late in life that her only hit songs were when she forget the words [to Mack the Knife] and made the words up
  13. Title: "Just One of Those Things" Noting that Ms. Fitzgerald's improvisations always stayed harmonically sound, the music writer Will Friedman recites a lengthy list of songs during a five minute scat version of "How High the Moon." Comment: Yes, Ella Fitzgerald was a gift from God, who always seemed surprised people loved her singing - even at Carnegie Hall.
  14. I finally gave in and made an appointment to have a haircut on Monday, also to get my beard trimmed. I am 76, and never had a beard before, The salon opened today.not surprised it is open seven days a week for a while. Yikes.
  15. Yes, please be careful. We need you as do other people!
  16. I have the same question. What's a number one?
  17. My friend, journalist Christopher Allen, wrote about the war until three years ago but mostly in Eastern Ukraine where the sentiment may have centered on the daily crushing events of living and dying. I am disputing the anti gay feeling in Ukraine, just that Chris never wrote or talked about it. I thought of flying there often - wish I had very much.
  18. Toni Nadal is a bit kinder to Novak Djokovic: "it was a mistake anyone could have made. For a good cause. Comment: it is difficult to understand Novak's parents' response: We are used to it Perhaps blame Gregor Dimitrov
  19. Huh? Sarajevo and Mostar, Bosnia were nearly destroyed during the war with Serbia and Croatia. During the Clinton Administration.
  20. I was posting about his Tennis career and how Novak Djokovic could recover from a major blunder. It doesn't surprise me that his parents are now blaming Gregor Dimitrov and not the lack of safety concerns in Serbia and Croatia. I have attended the United States Open, The French Open and the Australia Open.
  21. My comments about the different between Belgrade and Zadar was something I know about. I never pretended to be an expert on COVID19. Never.
  22. I was approached to become an escort in a large expat community in Southern Spain by the owner of the small apartment where I was living in 1973. Not interested because his motivation was partly my staying there much longer than I wanted. I had more than enough of the twice weekly bull fights. And I didn't need the money.
  23. Arlene Francis devorced her first husband, a Hollywood film executive, after a painful personal debate. He was a wonderful man, but she didn't love him. To some extent, Ms. Francis married him to please her somewhat overbearing parents. Before What's My Line, she realized she was good at quick and witty comments, to her great surprise.
  24. Gregor Dimitrov flew from Los Angeles to Serbia and then to Bulgaria and then Monaco before arriving in Croatia. Gorin Ivanovich But even Serbian Ivanovich admitted the limbo dance, in which he participated, might have been over the top. Comment: Gregor was free to fly wherever he wanted. He didn't break any rules. That was the problem: no rules.
  25. Zadar seems like a much more appropriate place for a tennis exhibition tournament during COVID-19. It has a relatively limited number of places to dance and drink. And it is certainly not Hvar or Dubrovnik. I can't comment on Belgrade. Novak should play at the US Open and soon after in Paris. Otherwise, it may be difficult to put this tournament behind.
