  1. It is 97 in Philadelphia, but only feels like 98. My cat, Stella, is staying inside for the air conditioning
  2. The Field of Dreams game in Iowa to be playied in August will feature Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis replaced the New York Yankees a few days ago. To keep the theme of New York traveling too far to play baseball. Makes sense.
  3. I didn't have much to say because I am not a fan of the musical Hamilton.
  4. Why. There's no reason why a Broadway show can't be somewhat accurate. The Sound of Music opened on Broadway in 1959, a very long time ago. Mary Martin who played Maria was almost 46 years old on opening night.
  5. Los Angeles Dodger pitcher David Price is sitting out the 2020 baseball season because of concern for his family and COVID19.
  6. Freddie Freeman is running a high temperature. He is the first significant major league baseball player to test positive since training started a few days ago. His wife said we have been so careful and then it hit him like a ton of bricks. Perhaps major league baseball should have just cancelled the 2020 season. Players cannot live in a bubble, while seeing family members, flying to other baseball cities, driving back and forum to team stadiums, but without fans.
  7. Perhaps we can stop here. You too, please.
  8. The musical *Gypsy was based on a book about a mostly terrifying mother, written by Gypsy Rose Lee. Ethel Merman played the mother on Broadway from 1959 to 1961. Many people who saw the musical thought Merman was playing herself. She probably wasn't.
  9. Thanks, MikeBIDude. You may be the only member to respond positively. And also Marylander1940
  10. The VA recognized the lethal power of Agent Orange in Vietnam years ago, for many diseases. A veteran has to document service in Vietnam and medical records on contacting one or more of diseases spawned by Agent Orange. Nobody has spoken until now because there are only a few Vietnam vets here.
  11. Joey Stefano was Her book, sex, featured partly nude photos of Joey. He looked better in the photos than when Stefano was unkept and high in gay bars in New Jersey. I felt sorry for him, especially on gay pride weekend.
  12. I read the most recent biography of Alexander Hamilton before seeing the Broadway musical in July 2016. The CD had not dropped yet. I spent too much tim trying to match the biography with the show. I should have just relaxed and enjoyed the music and words which were excellent on their own. However, I probably won't watch the recorded version. I live in Philadelphia and can visit were Hamilton lived and worked as Washington Cabinet Secretary of Treasury
  13. The actor who didn't realize Charles in Charge never had a last have a last name.
  14. Much better response. Thank you.
  15. I served in Vietnam and survived prostate cancer. Calling a president who has totally screwed up the fight against covid Agent Orange is a bit of an insult
  16. Agent Orange was often a fatal disease in Vietnam. Prostate cancer is one of many after illnesses.

@Liam, is this an attempt to re-establish a very old thread that ran it's course several years ago.
  18. I don't have a few extra pounds. Attended years ago, greatly enjoyed, but not interested in going with just one or two others.
  19. Grover Dale, one of the dancers in West Side Story dated Anthony Perkins and married Anita Morris. His son, Badger Dale is an actor.
  20. Cool, edgy. Perhaps when the Broadway musical "West Side Story" was freaking edgy in the 1950s. "Hair" in the late 1960s was far more cool and edgy. The dancers in West Side Story dated people like Elaine Stritch and Kay Thompson and married actresses like Liza Minnelli.
  21. That is your own personal responsibility ? ? @marylander1940. Again, the hall monitor.
  22. Isn't it a bit more complicated? We may not know the full situation to draw that response
