craigville beach reacted to Bargara Leatherboy in Let's stop the sanitizing...
I always used to come down with a cold or flu after flying on an international flight, have a great vacation and then be sick for a week or two when i got back - never felt good.
During the dramas with swine flu, I had to travel to New Zealand when my Mum Passed away, this was April 2009. The day I was due to fly home, my flight was delayed as the inbound service had a sick child on board. we were told by the Business Class manager that the delay was for the aircraft to be sanitised.
Get home a few days later get really really sick. You guessed it swine flu !!!
SInce then I have never had a cold or a flu. When I fly i use hand sanitizer, everything i touch i use sanitizer and wipes. So i get on the plane, i wipe down my seat belt, my arm rests, the entertainment controller etc etc etc.
When I go to the bathroom, and from Australia every where is a 3 -17 hour flight away, I do what I need to do, i wash with soap, i then grab a tissue or paper town to open the door, throw that in the trash. Go back to my seat and you guessed it - hand sanitise.
In places like Bali or Thailand I do the same after handling the money.
Yes May 2009 was the last time I got sick.
With Covid we are that much more aware, so this has become a standard procedure. I hot desk at work, so we do it all the time.
Rates of colds and flu‘s went down last winter, why because we are wearing masks and sanitising.
Something is working, so lets keep doing what we are doing until we are able to eradicate this virus

Mary Ann was always more attractive to me than Ginger!
When conversations get heated with friends and loved ones my brother always starts singing “the weather started getting rough...” from the opening theme.

craigville beach reacted to wsc in Medicare question, supplemental vs. advantage?
Well, this is awkward.
To quote Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady, "Damn, damn, damn, damn!" I, who so recently wrote of sloppiness and inattention to detail, must now come face to farce with my own.
You are quite correct regarding the highest IRMAA income level being $500,000+. I've rechecked and seen that the table I used has two entries in the same box, one being that highest tier, and other being the next to highest, and that latter being the one that applied to me.
My apologies for any aspersions, however and altogether unintended, cast your way by my previous response, now seen to have been delivered directly from my ass, where I apparently keep my "facts." I am mortified and will now slink away to be one with my shame.
Actually, I'll meet friends later this evening and drink to forget this embarrassing episode. I don't really need the drinks to make me forget; at this stage in my life, I can do that on my own. But the Scotch makes it more fun.
Again, my apology for the error, and my thanks for the correction.

I like the fact that the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has benches throughout the galleries for you to pause and look around. Oh, yea the art work is good to look at also

I don't like sharing my seat with anyone. I paid for it, I want all of it.

I remember seeing a porn flick in which his delicate alabaster butt is being ripped to pieces by a huge black monster cock. I forgot the name of the top, but he has one of the biggest ones out here.
That boy certainly can TAKE cock ...

It does a great job of tenderizing tough cuts of meat. But I also use it for prime/choice steaks as a step in the “reverse sear” method. I’ll put porterhouse, tri tip, large NY’s, any “thick” steak into the sous vide at about 125-130° for a couple hours. Then take it out, and sear the outside on my grill. You can also buy kitchen torches that will provide a sear on meat that has been first cooked in the sous vide.
I cooked a large beef tongue with herbs and spices for over 24 hours in the sous vide. The time surprised me but that’s what multiple online recipes suggested. Turned out amazing, tender, flavorful I used for Italian bolognese and Mexican street tacos.
Try it for corn on the cob, and also carrots!

Here’s how I make perfect poached eggs:
1. Crack two eggs into a bowl.
2. Bring water to a boil (I have a gas range), then pour in a few tablespoons of white vinegar. I use Trader Joe’s Modena.
3. Slowly slide the eggs in, one at a time. Bring the heat down to low.
4. Continue cooking for three minutes.
5. Use a slotted spoon to carefully lift each egg up to drain it and then place it on a nice crusty piece of toasted bread. I like rye. The eggs will be moderately runny.

I don't mind his haircut. For a man his age, I think it looks cute. At least he hasn't ruined his "boy-next-door" looks with tattoos.

how old is your friend? Call the local police and ask for a wellness check. Call the local Council on Aging or Elder Services and ask for a wellness check. Even if he isn't an "elder" he may be eligible for some assistance depending on the community.
