  1. Last April I paid the following amount for one year of Sirius XM Select - $126.68
  2. I use the same strategy although, since obtaining Android Auto, when I tell Sirius that I want to cancel, I actually mean it - unless they come up with a really good price, which they always do. Tell them that you'll pay the same amount as you did last year - for me, they've always accepted my offer. Be sure to call them a few days before renewal.
  3. One summer in college I worked in a factory that made ammonia. I came home every night with burning eyes, nose, throat and lungs. I lasted two weeks before I quit.
  4. Per Consumer Reports The Upside of Leasing On the surface, leasing can be more appealing than buying. Monthly payments are usually lower because you’re not paying back any principal. Instead, you’re just borrowing and repaying the difference between the car’s value when new and the car’s residual—its expected value when the lease ends—plus finance charges. The Major Advantages of Leasing • You drive the car during its most trouble-free years. • You’re always driving a late-model vehicle that’s covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which may include free oil changes and other scheduled maintenance. • Having a predictable monthly payment with no surprise repair costs can make it easier to stick to a household budget. • You can drive a higher-priced, better-equipped vehicle than you might otherwise be able to afford. This may allow you to opt for lifesaving safety features that aren’t available on lower trims or used cars. • You don’t have to worry about fluctuations in the car’s trade-in value or go through the hassle of selling it when it’s time to move on. • There could be significant tax advantages for business owners. • At the end of the lease, you just drop off the car at the dealer. Disadvantages to Leasing • In the end, leasing usually costs you more than an equivalent loan, if only because you're always driving a rapidly depreciating asset. • If you lease one car after another, monthly payments go on forever. By contrast, the longer you keep a vehicle after the loan is paid off, the more value you get out of it. Over the long term, the cheapest way to drive is to buy a car and keep it until it’s uneconomical to repair. • Lease contracts specify a limited number of miles. If you go over that limit, you’ll have to pay an excess mileage penalty. That can range from 10 cents to as much as 50 cents for every additional mile. So be sure to calculate how much you plan to drive. You don’t get a credit for unused miles. • If you don’t maintain the vehicle in good condition, you’ll have to pay excess wear-and-tear charges when you turn it in. So if your kids are apt to go wild with the magic markers or you're a magnet for parking lot dents and dings, be prepared to pay extra. • If you decide that you don’t like the car or if you can’t afford the payments, it might cost you. You will probably be stuck with thousands of dollars in early termination fees and penalties if you get out of a lease early—and they’ll all be due at once. Those charges could equal the amount of the lease for its entire term. • With a few exceptions, such as professional window tinting, you need to bring back the car in “as it left the showroom” condition, minus usual wear and tear, and configured like it was when you leased it. • You’re still on the hook for expendable items such as tires, which can be more expensive to replace on a better-equipped vehicle with premium wheels.
  5. Don't forget that insurance and repairs are usually much higher for expensive cars. The best cars (in both reliability and comfort) are often not the most expensive. Buy something nice (and reasonable) and use the money you save on travel and escorts. Read Consumer Reports March Edition before you buy anything.
  6. The 1956 Republican Convention. I was a child but I can remember watching, on our teeny-tiny b/w screen. Cars w/out seat belts.
  7. Definition of impeccable 1 : free from fault or blame 2 : not capable of sinning 3 : incapable of wrongdoing -------------------------------------------------- Will you be changing your sign-in name? Perhaps to "The_Peccable_G?"
  8. Absolutely. Every father of a teenager entering puberty should be required to memorize Prof. Samuel Perlman's advice to his son. From Wikipedia: Perlman's consoling speech given to his son in the film was described by Huffington Post writer Nell Minow as being "one of the most moving scenes ever filmed."
  9. It's my understanding that Armie Hammer did more than have fantasies. Apparently he put his fantasies in the form or requests to various women - one of whom he told he'd "like to break my rib and barbecue and eat it." Per The Toronto Sun: The news comes weeks after one ex-lover, Paige Lorenze, told The Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia that Hammer allegedly wanted to remove one of her ribs and eat it. “He asked me on multiple occasions to remove my ribs,” she said. “He wanted to find a doctor in L.A. to, like, remove the ribs that I don’t need. And he wanted to, like, he has a smoker at his house in L.A. and he wanted to smoke it and eat it (sic)… He would always say, ‘I wonder what it tastes like, I bet it tastes good’.” Another ex, Courtney Vucekovich, told Daily Mail.com in an exclusive interview that the Call Me By Your Name star was into “master-slave fetishes” and allegedly told her he wanted to break and eat her ribs. His former GF is also alleging that Hammer was "abusive and manipulative." I agree with you that one's personal fantasies are nobody's business and the absurdity of the requests suggests to me that he likely was joking (bad joking). I still think that Armie was miscast in CMBYN as he looked much older than the supposed 25, and lacked chemistry with his co-star. Other than that, I have no idea whether the allegations are true or not. Apparently some Hollywood big shots have been spooked by the rumors since he was dropped from two movies as well as by his long time Talent Agency. I would doubt that the CMBYN producers would risk inserting him into a movie about forbidden love esp when he's being accused of wanting to barbecue and eat his lovers. Unless, of course, the sequel has a Hannibal Lector subplot.
  10. He said that in an interview in 2012. Then he does CMBYN. Go figure.
  11. I totally agree - Armie Hammer appeared to be much older than 25 in CMBYN and was totally miscast (Armie was 31 when the movie was shot). More importantly I did not sense any chemistry between him and the beautiful Timothée Chalamet. Armie's character arrives one day, plays volleyball shirtless, dances wildly with the girls, and suddenly he's lying seductively in the meadow with the teenage son of his mentor. A more accomplished (and nuanced) actor like Nicholas Hoult (one of my faves since A Single Man) could have created a bit more sexual tension and have avoided some of the "pedo-feel" that some have suggested with Armie. It was a good movie and the final scene, with Timothée staring tearfully into the fireplace while the credits rolled (I'm guessing a lot of us have had similar experiences?) was superb. Wondering if Armie's cannibalism fantasies may affect his participation in CMBYN Part Deux.
  12. Indiana is one of the most redneck states; I don't mean Conservative, I mean redneck. I remember riding up I-65 when I was a child (in the late 1950s) and seeing billboards along the Interstate for the KKK. However, Indy is a a modern, progressive city with lots of young liberal professionals. I used to visit Indy a couple of times a month to see the strippers at the late, great, Unicorn Club until it became crowded with females - (nothing against females but it's a different vibe). I continue to travel to Indy periodically as I connect with guys on Grindr and the regular rental sites. They tend to be more economically feasible and are no less hot than guys anywhere. Maybe the roster is more limited than Chicago or Nashville (the I-65 corridor) but you can afford a lot more of them. As far as a vacation destination, they have a great children's museum, sports venues, and the downtown area is great after dark. But for a single gay person, there are a lot of other cities with more to do. If you're traveling to Indy, make sure you stop in Columbus, just south of Indy, to say hi to Mike Pence and Mother. They'd probably enjoy the company- just don't mention the gay thing.
  13. You have to book him quickly b/c he doesn't stay long in one place. After one night in Indy, he's now in Cincy and perhaps headed East. Get ready Columbus and/or Pittsburgh.
  14. He came through Kentucky a couple of days ago - I saw him on A4A where he also advertises (as "ZakTaylor"). He offered a very low rate, given the hotness of his photos - which makes me wonder what exactly he's willing to do. I did not hire b/c he stated he was only here for one night and I'm still feelng a bit fatigued/achy from the vaccine shot. He moved on to Chicago and now he's in Indy. He has a different phone number on the A4A site. The phone number on A4A is a Des Moines area code.
  15. I once had lunch with a News Director at a local network affiliate who told me that their local TV news anchor, despite appearing affable & laid-back onscreen, was a real a-hole douche bag as soon as the camera was turned off. He said that these local TV "celebrities" get such public recognition and adulation that they develop a huge sense of entitlement and start to think that everyone is there to serve their needs. If this is true for a medium-sized media market, I can only imagine the size of the EGO's of the Prima Donnas that lurk the halls of the major networks in NYC and LA.
  16. My favorite anchor - now moving over to my favorite network (from ABC to NBC)
  17. Many years ago while on vacation in Fort LiquorDale, I was briskly walking south on Seabreeze Avenue towards Las Olas Blvd. on my way to the Liquor Store near the corner Las Olas & AIA (it's still there). I was distracted by a commotion in the little park on the corner and wasn't watching where I was going. As a result, I almost ran into a couple of teenage boys, one of whom jokingly yelled at me "Slow down, POPS." That was the first time I realized that I was no longer young, at least not to teens. Funny how such minor incidents linger in the mind as milestones in one's life.
  18. I wasn't gay until I saw Peter Berlin. Also, Chad Douglass, Matt Gunther, and Tim Kramer.
  19. “I have to tell you, a restaurant is a very tricky investment — over half of them go out of business in the first six months. If I were your accountant, I’d have to strongly advise you against it.” “You’re not my accountant.” “I realize I’m not your accountant. [Pause.] I’m just saying … if I were your accountant … “ -- "The Duke" (Charles Grodin) in Midnight Run I would think that a bar is a "very tricky investment" also.
  20. Lots of folks live poor so they can die rich. Makes no sense. You'll never see a hearse pulling a U-Haul.
  21. I loved the themes from Laverne and Shirley & Mary Tyler More Show. For most intriguing and compelling opening sequence/Dramatis personae , gotta be Breaking Bad.
  22. He should have offered anal, too.
  23. "Darrell" was the local tough kid who took on all challengers and usually knocked out his opponent in about one minute. He loved to pick fights. If you heard that Darrell was looking for you, a kid would be tempted to enter the Witness Protection Program. Don't think people can change? Darrell went on the become a successful designer of Greeting Cards.
  24. 12 years old? I've had my mattress so long that there's an outline of my body that resembles the Shroud of Turin.
