I would agree too. I have tipped in the past because I've felt pressured. But thinking back now, the prices are insane....there shouldn't be anything more expected. The price is high because they're doing more than a massage.

Yeah, I had warts many years ago. Traumatizing...someone sleuthed me and it wasn't cool. I was told by a doc that the warts represented the low-risk strains, but I was recommended by a derm and proctologist to get the Gardasil-9 vaccine, which I ended up getting. It's kinda the only thing you can do aside from limiting your number of partners. Unfortunately men don't appear to have any solid HPV test like women do.

I was told by the proctologist that anyone sexually active has had some strain of HPV at some point (there are like 200 ish or something), but you just want to be active in not catching the high-risk strains. I've always wondered orally how safe we as gay men are because there were studies a few years ago saying lots of oral sex increases the risk of oral/throat cancers by a lot. 😔

English isn't his first language so you may have some communication barrier if you don't speak Chinese. The massage is actually pretty good, but he's one of those people who will just tell you to turn over after and he goes through the motions. For people who do oral or anal often, etc, it plays a crucial role in preventing several types of cancer, including cervical, throat, delicate locations. By getting vaccinated, you’re not only protecting your own health but also contributing to other people being safe. It’s effective, quick, and anyone who has casual sex should consider it.

A hot take I agree with. BUT I think the CEO's shenanigans put the kibosh down on any sex-selling. The current CEO had to steer far, far away from that old image. I also think Gen Z would've dragged the shit outta A&F had they still gone the soft gay porn route.

I used to tip but I think if the person's rates are super high (like $250+), you really shouldn't feel obligated to tip. They are charging a high rate for a reason, and I'm sure some have calculated/estimated tip into it. Just my take though.

I was scammed in East Asia once. Just overall tip, as it's already been implied/noted here: if any masseur tells to you alter your payment before you meet, it is a scam. In my case, a lot of these guys use LINE or WeChat (Asian chat apps) for their communications after they match with you on some gay app. For me, once I arrived at the masseur's address, the person asked me to use the payment to buy some type of credits for an online game instead (this was prior to meeting; I was only outside their address). After my first purchase, which was legit and inside a 7-11, the person then told me I didn't buy the right kind. I was bewildered. Apparently a passport was then needed for the purchase, and I immediately nope-d out.

I echo curiosity about the SGV too. There are obviously many Chinese massage places but I don't think any really cater to what we're looking for (muscular, good-looking men with good hands).

I've been to Century a few times. It's got a golf driving range on the outside, a smoking area directly above it on the second floor, and the main spa area is on the first floor downstairs. Lockers use magnetic keys strapped to your wrists. It's a korean spa, so you are required to be nude in the spa area.
The main spa area has lounging chairs in the center, with the two steam saunas directly on one side, and directly facing opposite, open showers. In the center, directly in front of the lounge area, there's a cold sauna and a dry sauna as well. The main hot tubs are on a tier directly above and behind the lounging chairs. To put it in perspective, if you're up in the tubs, you can essentially see the entire area. Massages with scrubs are offered as well in a corner behind the showers. If you need to cool off, there's a door near the showers leading to a small seated area outside.
One steam room is particularly steamy, you'll know as soon as you see it, as it's usually somewhat crowded. It's so steamy that it's kind of difficult to see anything inside of it, but the steam room next to it is much more mild if you can't handle the heat. Outside of the main spa area are two more dry spas down the hallway.
On the second floor is the clothing-mandatory mixed gender area, and has a small restaurant with food and drinks, along with a couple of lovely dry spas of varying temperatures, including a cold one. The main area has mats on the floor to rest on, and in the back, a sleeping room for men and a sleeping room for women.
