  1. I LOVED Part 2. Ironically your’re the first person I’ve heard saying they liked Part 1 better. As an avid fan having read the books 50 years ago, I liked both. But…I work with a lot of younger 18-28ish people - who haven’t read the books - and they didn’t like Part 1 as a standalone movie, but loved Part 2 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t necessarily follow reviews, Rotten Tomatoes, etc….but Part 2 is wildly more popular than 1.
  2. I’ve mentioned before I consult and work in the F&B industry. It’s tough right now, and really tough in California with a new minimum wage JUST for fast food workers. That said, I deplore the idea of the tip added in like that. California is also working on legislation that would prohibit “service fees” which are becoming popular in many restaurants. Watch your dining check!
  3. It’s worked for me twice, but it’s been a couple years. Not sure if this is still true but OF wouldn’t let me send a message to the guy with the word “meet”, I had to workaround. Both times led to fun visits….both in the “normal” range of pricing. One of them went on to put up a RentMen ad.
  4. Same here on the West Coast, San Pedro in SoCal has fleet week.
  5. Amazon gift cards are your graduation friend.
  6. Jeremy Allen White looked ok too!
  7. It’s exactly like checking into a hotel in a regular manner. DayUse allows you to cancel without any penalty, in fact they don’t even charge your card, (HotelByDay does charge) your present it a the hotel check in. There is zero difference in a regular booking in my experience.
  8. But one of his real reviews was from me! 😉
  9. I went to a city/county health department tent/trailer setup in a community college parking lot. Both doses…was simple.
  10. This urban myth was debunked in the same string of posts a few weeks ago:
  11. This! And this is how McDonalds got huge in its beginnings…mediocre food, clean restrooms, 100% of the time consistent the same anywhere in the country.
  12. I’ve met a few times with TatooedTwunk aka Kylan Boyd. Good experiences. Jack Valor has many positive posts/threads here on the forum, search and you’ll find 3-4.
  13. Another take on the closings. Some of the employee stories may be sour grapes, but their take on the all you can eat is interesting. Fired Red Lobster Employees Have Quite the Tales About the “Endless Shrimp” Debacle SLATE.COM Tales from the seafood promotion from hell.
  14. You missed my post from a few hours ago? 😉
  15. Welcome to our forum @OceansideGuy
  16. Chapter 11 BK does not necessarily mean an end to the chain. Under reorganization they can reject some leases, work out some debt, etc. The “stalking horse” angle is interesting…perhaps the lenders will accept a plan like this and keep some of the units open. I stay in a Vrbo in Honolulu that has a Red Lobster directly under it, same building. The tourists pack the place…20-30 minute wait people outside all the time. That said, an Outback Steakhouse immediately adjacent has closed 🤷🏻‍♂️
  17. Stomach paralysis? Weight-loss drugs linked to stomach paralysis, other serious gastrointestinal conditions - UBC Faculty of Medicine WWW.MED.UBC.CA First-of-its-kind epidemiological study finds GLP-1 agonist medications like Ozempic and Wegovy can cause serious gastrointestinal conditions when used...
  18. Read this thread for options and help: Reading review comments on Rentmen https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/132118-reading-review-comments-on-rentmen/
  19. Just wrapped it up over 2 nights of watching, liked it!
  20. Check this extensive and current thread:
  21. Come on…they weren’t born when that changed. When we went from fixed font typewriters to proportionally spaced fonts on our computers a single space is considered more aesthetic. Even the Chicago Manual of Style says single space. Found this, made me smile: Nothing Says Over 40 Like Two Spaces after a Period!
  22. Kind of ironic, I was just going to post in the Deli about a new provider I’d found on RM. Had a good visit with him, thought I’d promote him a bit. Then, he’s peppering me with multiple requests for a next meet, and today he asks me for $1500 for 5 future visits. 🤣 So, yeah I won’t recommend him and he’s blocked from my phone.
  23. The flip side of this topic….I wish more posters put a provider’s city/locale in the topic of the post. i.e. “411 on HotOne in SoCal” rather than just “any info about HotOne?”
  24. Moderator note: this has gone way off topic. If you want to continue to discuss this topic I suggest taking it to the financial sub-forum. Let’s get back on Red Lobster topic. Thanks!
