It’s usually in a casino’s favor...like roulette pays 35/1 sounds huge! But there are 38 ways to lose (36 numbers and 0/00) the casino owns the edge on that.
When a lottery jackpot outstrips the calculated odds, you have a slight edge.
Edit: so the jackpot is a billion, here’s the odds showing the consumer has an edge, mind you losing streak could cost you a billion and more than a few lifetimes.
