I have lived in Bangkok for several years, both while worked in the local office of an large American philanthropic foundation and as the site for my graduate thesis on rural-to-urban labor migration. I still maintain an apartment in the City and am there regularly. Despardo's posting is quite spot on. What many people do not realize, largely due to a very successful campaign launched by the Thai tourist authorities, is just how poor the country is. Not to "essentialize", but I have found the Thai people to be wonderful to be around, both in casual everyday encounters and more long-lasting relationships, professional and personal. But one must always keep in mind that life there is very difficult for most people... instability in the government, rural poverty, a degrading environment, corruption, and just bad infrastructure make the everyday an ordeal in many ways. Also keep in mind that the sex industry there really is an industry, efforts to sugar coat it notwithstanding. As for coping, Despardo's advice is good... I speak the language so I can politely decline offers in Thai which both surprises, amuses, and renders speechless most people who might approach me. Otherwise a polite smile and a simple phrase: "mai ow, krub" will suffice.

Montreal--Bourbon complex is active again
nynakedtop replied to LurkerSpeaks's topic in Street Scenes
... but it is an interesting opening into a discussion of the state of Ste. Catherine - it used to be my go to area for fun on my many trips to Montreal, but it did start to look a bit rough around the edges my last few journeys there (not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that, I may add!) -
i have lived in thailand for several years - long enough to have been able to achieve some mastery of their language, indeed. happy to give some specific guidance, advice, warnings... but let me put one thing out there for now: many/most(?) of the gentleman working in massage places very much see it as their job.... something they do for a few hours every day in order to earn cash to maintain their families either in bangkok or back in their village in other parts of the country. they are generally very wonderful and welcoming people, but deserve respect that many visitors to their country withhold. let me also add, and this may sound strange, that again as a whole they are very shy and conservative in their attitudes towards intimate contact. let me leave it at that.

Anyone here remember the Saint Marks Baths?

Escorts asking for Personal Information and Pics?
nynakedtop replied to Reluctant Daddy's topic in Questions About Hiring
I can see both side of this saga, I guess. I can only present my own. I generally volunteer to send my pics to someone I am going to meet - face, body, and "unmentionables". I think it's a nice gesture on my part, and it also serves to determine in advance whether or not there may be some issues going forward. But I also recognize that I may have a privileged existence compared to others: I am OUT to friends, families, colleagues, etc., and live in NYC. What works for me just may not be possible for others. If an escort asks, it is just fine with me. If he declines my business my ego is bruised, of course.... -
total "wrestle fetish-ist" here, more as a spectators than a participant.... so seeing this thread definitely got my early morninh juices flowing. i have always assumed that i am not alone, but nice to receive confirmation. one thing i have noticed is that many wrestling sites seem to separate the athleticism from the eroticism - true? or are they simply conflated?

Total fan here - she added meaning to my adolescence and now to my nostalgic yearnings for those complicated times. A treasure to be celebrated, nourished, cherished. Blue Songs are like tattoos You know I've been to sea before Crown and anchor me Or let me sail away

I would avoid making an appointment with him if you expect anything beyond therapeutic - no matter what he says.

Strongly recommend Mr. Brentwood (see above) - on top of that he's a great guy!

it is very much up and running, and one of my favorite places, depending on who is hosting that particular night - i notice that other venues are being used now and then, but i have a special place in my heart for that haunt of 28th street, long may it survive... (and a shout out to lidell and to cade....) some smaller hosted parties can also be fun, but one must be kind of "networked" to know about them, and have some special preferences (i am thinking bbrt)

they are a bit "underground" for obvious reasons, but not that hard to find.... if it is a scene that you think might work for you, hit me up if you are interested.

where are you located? any sex clubs or party circuit in your area?

Responses when you ask for a '3-fingered selfie'.
nynakedtop replied to + dutchmuch's topic in The Deli
The deception was so obvious and the guy so pathetic that he could tell that I knew I had been deceived. Strange thing was that I felt more compassion than anger. I guess that's just who I am. But not enough compassion to allow the meet up to continue, hehe. -

In a word, yes. Or worse! -
i'd book him in a flash except for that dreaded "ask me" in the rates. i don't want my first conversation to have to be about "how much".... sorry!

So, what can be said about the Sauna Thermas that has not yet been said... Went there on a midweek afternoon and was pleased to see just how nice the facilities are -- well kept, clean, appropriately lit, etc., etc. Part of my life as a "sauna addict" is the lingering aspect - just hanging out and staying around and having fun. Although I knew that this would not be "that" kind of place, I must say that there is a very laid back atmosphere here combined with the availability of gentlemen for pleasure. I was eagerly welcomed by many many guys but never felt any pressure to partake. As it turned out, I did spend some time with one Russian and one Brazilian guy. Also had nice conversations with other Brazilians, a Bulgarian, Romanian, ad so on. It is a place I could see myself become easily addicted to if I lived even remotely close by. If guys are considering the place or just curious about my experience, I am happy to tell all - not totally sure what constitutes an appropriate post here vs. a review so I am erring on the side of caution (just for now...)

I beg to differ, but... kind of! I met Rafael one time when he was able to host (I got the impression it was at a friend's apartment) and found him to be a great masseur, very playful, genuine, enthusiastic... and so on. And hot. For awhile I was getting lots of text messages from him trying to set up a session, but then he got a bit "elusive". Maybe some issues have come up for him... but: given the opportunity I would be happy to see him again!
-
Likewise considering a review. I was underwhelmed.
-
There was/is an Asian guy who peddles his wares as a masseur who had some bizarre facial plastic surgery - his method was posting phony pics and then refusing to share a real face pic at all. Not a satisfactory resolution of the issue if you ask me!

411 on Brian - "Best Asian Masseur in Town"?
nynakedtop replied to Ride a cowboy's topic in Spas & Masseurs
Actually, the "100 flowers campaign" to which I made reference and to which you replied was a 1956 campaign by the Chinese communist party to relax restrictions on political expression and "let 1000 schools of thought flourish". Just a mid-week bit of information for professor Richard here to share! -

On the other hand, Herr Dutch, I congratulate you for injecting a bit of reality into a discussion that can sometimes border on obscure navel gazing and hope you feel continue to feel free to let "100 flowers bloom..."
