It definitely sounds like they can redesignate the funds at some point in time. If this was my gift, I would request the paragraph to be stricken. If the foundation is not agreeable to such removal, I would request that the decision to reallocate the funds be made by the foundation's board of direction rather than Chancellor.

I either didn't know or had forgotten that there was a Columbus connection with him. Of course, I didn't move to the area until 1999, so maybe that explains it.

Tennis Shoes that Look like Dress Shoes
+ sam.fitzpatrick replied to Doe Be Doe's topic in The Lounge
My go-to brand for dress shoes is Allen Edmonds. I've notice that they now have sneakers, some that seem to fit the description. Men's Dress Sneakers & Casual Sneakers: Leather & Suede | Allen Edmonds -
Just out of college, I traveled frequently with a group of friends and often four of us would share a hotel room to save on the budget (too many weddings the first two years out of school.) One of the fiends often talked in his sleep, using language that was unexpected coming from him. Turns out, he was often quoting movie lines - or that was his claim. We learned to ignore his sleep talk - and I decided I wouldn't watch movies this friend recommended.

Drug rules in professional and/or international sports
+ sam.fitzpatrick replied to a topic in The Sports Desk
While marijuana may not directly enhance performance, I have a college friend who has been smoking medical marijuana for years to address her arthritis pain. It doesn't directly address the condition, just helps with pain. I see how athletes could use this to allow them to show up and participate by masking their discomfort. -

In high school and colleague, I taught swimming lessons for seven years. Advantages to learning to swim while wearing a brief cut (a/k/a Speedo), lycra square cut, or jammers are: As previously mentioned, swim trunks made from other materials can absorb the water and weigh one down. Other cuts from bulkier material may limit ones range of motion while trying to learn the various strokes. Wearing close fitting suits made of lycra or nylon allow the novice swimmer to better learn the feel of the water. Other, loosely fitting styles may "balloon" in the water, especially those with pockets. This additional drag makes it more difficult for people to move through the water. Quite frankly, many are designed for fashion and not function. Being distracted by trunks that are not staying in place because they don't have the functioning drawstrings that stay tied often hinders the quality of the lesson.

Washington Square Park has turned into a free for all
+ sam.fitzpatrick replied to + FreshFluff's topic in The Lounge
Moderator Note - Please stay on topic of Washington Square and not hijack the thread into a conversation about Guiliani. Conversations about him belong in the Politcal Issues forum. Thank you. -
Thanks - I struggled finding the right example. Years ago, I had an employee leave the company when her husband got a new job in Kankakee. It was very fun to say out loud and every since it has been something I say to myself any time I want to smile.

Questions on Overnight Appointments
+ sam.fitzpatrick replied to hwic04's topic in Questions About Hiring
@hwic04, in my experience, overnight appointments are not much different than weekend appointments. The difference is there's a little less time to get the know the guys you are spending time with. In my overnights, they have usually included dinner. They don't always include morning activities. I do think amount of play time will vary based on whether you are planning a week night or weeknd appointment. Many guys with jobs outside of escorting may indicate they need x hours of sleep to be ready for the office the next day. -
I didn't have the chance to spend any 1:1 time with Damian in Palm Springs, but I did enjoy sitting across the table from him at dinner one evening. An absolutely lovely man.

Advice for newbie to massages/escorts
+ sam.fitzpatrick replied to JeffThom's topic in Spas & Masseurs
@JeffThom - With other things in life, do you jump into the deep end right away, or do you tend to take small steps? I tend to be risk adverse. When I decided to act on my attraction to men (at age 44), I started with an erotic massage as it felt that it would not be a big risk. Back then advertisements on the massage sites were less restricted, and the guy I hired listed his services as 45 minutes of massage followed by 15 minutes of oral play. I decided that was enough to dip my toe in the water. For me, just having another naked man in the room who was touching me was wonderful. And the oral play made it even better. After that massage I was comfortable taking the next steps. -
I will provide the third endorsement. I try to see him on each visit I make to Ft. Lauderdale.

I think of some of the athletes that compete in "Olympic" sports such as swimming, track, wrestling, etc. and the relatively short window of opportunity compared to athletes competing in higher-profile sports such as football and basketball. For those individuals graduation (or the next Olympics) is often the end of their competitive careers and the opportunity to ink an endorsement deal is gone.
