So well said. My parents, my father in particular, obviously knew I was gay before I figured it out. It would not be fair to say they openly shamed me, but their passive pushing toward “manly” behavior and activities was one factor in my waiting until my late 30s to come out. That said, it's interesting how our respective reactions differ. I find myself somewhat drawn to the open and unapologetic swish of shows like Uncoupled, wishing I had the balls early on to just be me. As you point out.. It's just one person's story. And for some real docudrama dealing with gay shame, I recommend the series We’re Hear on HBO.

Wow… just starting binging We’re Hear on HBO. Love it! So surprising not to find any mentions here. Three top Ru Paul alumni… Bob The Drag Queen, Shangela, and Eureka, put on drag shows in small town America. Each episode weaves in 3 stories of town locals who ultimately take part in the drag show. I think it’s top notch. Fabulous story telling and editing. So many relatable moving experiences… very real and frank, and not every story has a bowtie ending. Season 3 is being filmed now.

Binged Uncoupled, the new gay sort of a version of Sex and the City by Darren Star with Neil Patrick Harris. It grew on me as the characters became a tad more defined. Great to see Marcia Gay Harden again. No lack of eye candy scenes. Also fun seeing the primary apartment setting in Gramercy where friends of mine have lived for 3 generations now. Their rent-controlled apt has little resemblance to the plush digs you see in the show but the layout is identical. Can’t imagine there not being a second season.

By “been vaccinated” is he fully vaccinated? I can’t find any place in NYC that will even schedule the 2nd shot.

I had a session a few months back with Magic_HandsNYC (Lee) who at that time was hosting on Madison Ave in the 30s. He’s a talented young masseur but unfortunately the session was a bit of a cluster fkuc because his roommates where there. I should have canceled. I hear ya! While not exactly in your shoes, yesterday I decided to step back from massage until I’m vaccinated. A more active friend of mine has it, and the husband of a friend is awaiting his results. My married friend is obviously distraught on a number of levels. I don’t think either has anything to do with massages or spas, but odds of exposure here in NYC seem high enough to me to warrant a break.

Given that he’s doubled the price for out calls and also asking for $100 deposit on outcalls only, perhaps he’s been burned in the past or he really prefers not doing outcalls but will do so opportunistically. But the question remains: Is he any good?
