More coming out about slap night and the consequences. It seems the academy did ask WS to leave the show after the slap but he refused. They are now looking at disciplinary action. I hope he is banned from the academy and not allowed to attend future awards shows. https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/30/entertainment/academy-will-smith/index.html

CR did a joke about JPS's hair. So what. It was a joke. Joan Rivers used to do Jokes about Jews in Nazi Germany. Kathy Griffin did jokes about Whitney Houston smoking meth. It's what comedians do. People are way too sensitive today. Will Smith's reaction was completely out of line...both the slap and then the profanity afterward. Very low class.

Very plausible. I had something similar happen in 1986 or 1987 when I was on an Eastern Airlines flight from Cali to Miami. The plane made an unscheduled stop in Panama. We all had to disembark the aircraft and claim our bags one by one on the tarmac. One person was apprehended by the police/military. We were told they also found 14 kilos of cocaine behind the wall panels of one of the bathrooms on the plane. Somehow Eastern had been tipped off that there were drugs on the flight. My understanding was that airport workers in Cali and Miami were involved in the drug smuggling operation.

I don't pay attention to number of cases anymore. I look at the percent of tests that are positive (you want to be under 3%) and number of hospitalizations for a given area. If both of these are trending low, I'm more relaxed.

Congrats Kevin!

There is already a thread on this topic in The Lounge.

Interesting. I'll look forward to your report later in the month. I stayed in the Marriott next to Piero's for two nights back in September and her name was still on the marquee under the Piero's sign. I assumed she was still performing but I don't know for certain. BTW, I tried to get into Piero's for dinner one night but they were not accepting anyone without a reservation. I'll have to plan ahead the next time. Enjoy!!

I dunno. I only found out she does a show in Piero's showroom last year. I remember seeing her many years ago on The Tonight Show with Carson. She was being touted as the next big thing in Hollywood...but that never really happened. I hadn't heard about her in decades and then discovered she does a show at Piero's. I was intrigued.

Have you seen Pia Zadora's show there?

Who knows what was going on when I went there. As you say, the quality may have declined since pre-Covid times. Or maybe I just hit them on an off-day. I should probably give them another chance.

The Wicked Spoon gets great reviews from most people but my own experience wasn't very good. I went last fall and was disappointed. I found the food to be very mediocre considering the price. I accept I am an outlier on the Wicked Spoon as most people seem to rave about it.

I saw no obvious construction going on then again I wasn't looking for it. I took Uber all three nights, but yes, parking is a pain there.

I agree that most of their products today aren't as good. The only thing that seems to have stood the test of time are the jars of fudge for heating to make the iconic hot fudge sundae. To me, that fudge still seems as good as when I was a kid in the 60's.

Totally agree with you. If I never eat another Entenmann's Bakery product for the rest of my life, I'm perfectly fine with that. They were never in the same category as the Awrey's and Sander's baked goods that we enjoyed in Michigan many decades back. Interesting tidbit: Entenmann's is currently owned by Bimbo Bakeries. I get a chuckle out of that name. Bimbo is a well known bread bakery in Mexico.

Our local gas station in rural Michigan was charging $4.25/gallon for regular yesterday. I didn't fill up as we're headed down to Detroit today for mom's doctor appointment. Will gas-up at Costco for $3.79/gallon. I'm in a similar situation to Charlie. Costco is too far away to justify driving there/back just to fill-up. I do however head down that way 2-3 times per month for other things (doctor appointments, haircut, etc.) and always take advantage of being in the area to get gas.

I was in Fort Lauderdale last week and went to Johnson's on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It was fairly busy all three nights but never packed. Good selection of dancers. Probably something for everyone. Lots of Latinos(Cuban, Venezuelan, Argentinian). Also various Europeans and North Americans....including four Montreal dancers. I had a good time all three nights. It was actually my first time out at a strip club for two years. I felt somewhat uncomfortable being around lots of people. I wore a mask for a period of time but no-one else in the club was masking. No-one in South Florida wears a mask anymore. I didn't do any private dances. I don't care for the fact that the curtains don't close completely...which limits privacy. I wouldn't care for Friday/Saturday at Johnson's as I'm not a fan of crowded clubs.

What do we know about when and how Montreal clubs will reopen?

Thanks for the heads up. I have seen all the new dancers on the on-line feed. A few comments: Hayden. Somewhat older. Used to dance for the ladies at 281 (now closed). I find him sexy but he has a very unfortunate full arm/shoulder tattoo...almost completely black. I've never seen him show his full cock. Shawn. Also older. Supposedly, used to dance at Stock years ago. Large and beautiful cock. Maxime. I find him handsome. I've only seen him dance on Wednesdays. Very unique talented dance style. Watch the clip! Tight muscular body. Beautiful. Never drops his pants so I don't know if he is "blessed" down there. -

You bad...bad...boy😁. -
Like Charlie, I never remember much of a street scene in London. From 1986 to 2001, I worked for a British company and I traveled to London probably 70-80 times during that period. I would go to Kings Cross multiple times on each trip to catch trains to the north. I never saw anything going on around Kings Cross. Perhaps one had to venture into some of the side streets around the station. Admittedly, I was never lingering around the station. I was there to leave on or come in on a train and that was it.

I assume that once the border opens to Americans (August 9), the higher quality dancers will return to the clubs...I hope!! Last night there was a real stunner dancing at Stock (I watch the live feed on-line). He was a superb dancer with his very unique style. I will need to see if he dances other nights. Historically, there are a few dancers that choose to dance only on ladies night. Anyway, good luck making your choice of where to go.
-
Well Canada will be open to Americans again beginning August 9th and Montreal has lots of strippers...Toronto too. There are the usual suspects of South Florida and Atlanta where there are strippers. Las Vegas is always fun although searing hot in the summer....also not soo many strippers. Some Las Vegas shows have recommenced. I don't know if you have lingering COVID concerns...but Florida is having a big spike in COVID delta variant cases currently. I personally wouldn't go anywhere near Florida right now...but, in the end, it's a personal choice for each individual. Breakthrough cases are happening to some vaccinated individuals.

I also posted this story on the Montreal strip club thread...but it's relevant here too. Possible strike action by Canada border officials in August. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cbsa-strike-vote-border-1.6108358

If you are planning a visit to Canada in August, pay attention to how this story develops. Over 8,000 Canadian border officials are threatening to strike in early August due to not having a contract in place since 2018. The strike vote is currently underway and the results should be known soon. If a strike proceeds it could cause major slowdowns at both land and air border crossing stations. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cbsa-strike-vote-border-1.6108358
