From The Guardian: He got sober at the age of 42. “I ended up in the pokey,” he says. “That’s what I tell people: if you want to get sober, try 27 days in the LA men’s county jail. That will sober your ass up.” It was while serving time for three counts of driving under the influence in a year, in 1997, that he says he crossed paths with the then down-on-his-luck Robert Downey Jr. “They came to me and said: ‘We don’t have any room for him, he’s downstairs waiting, but we can’t let you out until 2am.’ It’s a rule in California, that you can’t let a drunk out until after the bars close.” So the pair became cellmates for a short period until Jordan could be released. In 2001, they met again while filming Ally McBeal, but Downey Jr couldn’t place him. “He said: ‘Didn’t we? Are you?’ and I said: ‘Yep, 152, pod A, cell 13, you was top [bunk], I was bottom.’”

Parking situation = not great. A couple of times I've had to drive around & around looking for a spot until finally I'd catch someone leaving. Now they've also blocked off maybe 5 or 6 spaces along the side of the building for VIP members' parking, so that leaves even fewer spots. I usually get there later, though, after 11. Maybe it's easier to get parking before? That was one of my concerns when I learned that was the location for the new club. I'd been to the old 2606 and was already aware of the parking shortage.

Favorite Crock Pot Recipes (new, old thread is closed)

Made this today. Quick & easy, no muss no fuss and very tasty. Can't wait for tomorrow's leftovers. Thanks Mo! -
It's been a couple of weeks since I went on a Sunday; was really slow. It's only $5 cover though & you might find someone you like, so if you have nothing better to do, check it out. The good thing is, if you do find a dancer you like, there's not much competition for his attention. 😉

The family-owned funeral home is a dying industry

Along those lines, but a little different, I've been looking into "green burial" lately. Think that's the route I'll take. "Natural, or ‘Green,’ Burial is a safe and environmentally friendly practice that allows the body to return to the soil naturally by using biodegradable materials, and avoiding vaults and toxic embalming fluids. Many cultures and faiths throughout the U.S. and around the world have always used Natural Burial. An increasingly common burial option, Natural Burial is perfectly legal and is offered in many cemeteries and memorial preserves across the country. Conservation Burial takes this practice a step further by burying in a nature preserve rather than a conventional cemetery, and utilizing a portion of the burial fee to help permanently protect and maintain the natural environment. When you choose Conservation Burial, you make a positive environmental impact by securing habitat for wildlife, helping manage natural lands, or preserving habitat that is already rich in flora and fauna." -
And Sunday is a slow, low key night, the couple of times I’ve been there. Few dancers & few customers.

Just checking...anyone with info on this guy?

Yep, there have been times I've had to go to the nearest station due to a low tire, and then had to scrounge around for quarters to pay for the use of the compressor for AIR. We do now have a lot of Wawa stations around which offer free use of their air compressors and I try to get there if it's urgent. Due to previous experiences with low tire pressure though, I now keep a small air compressor in my car that plugs into what used to be the lighter socket. (The car didn't come with a lighter, so I'm not sure what purpose the socket serves other than to power my portable air compressor.)

Their grand opening is Friday 10/14 and their latest instagram post says "30+ Dancers!" I'm sure the place will be packed and it's not that big. Plus the parking on a regular Fri or Sat can be challenging, so I'm going to have to pass this time. I've pretty much become a regular already, going once or twice each weekend so I'll probably check in Sat or Sun and see if some of the dancers hung around.

I live just north of Tampa. On Monday we had mandatory evacuations of zone A, and recommended evacuations of B & C in my area; I'm in zone D. The next day Ian turned toward SW Florida & caused immense damage while I had drizzling rain & no wind, and my electricity went off for 1 minute in the middle of the night. The Ft. Myers area just didn't have enough warning before Ian's path changed.

I knew him when he danced at Boardwalk. Here are some previous threads: (Also advertises here: https://rentmasseur.com/Eduardojose)

I tried donating blood today. NEVER AGAIN! Too many questions: Whose blood is it? Where did you get it from? Why is it in a bucket?

I’d be so much more successful if some of my ancestors had just married better.

I was there Fri, Sat, & Sun nights for a bit. (OK, yeah I'm glad to finally have a club like this in Tampa!) Fri night there were 2 or 3 dancers at a time on the stage, for 3 song sets. Sat night they were up there 2 at a time. Sun just 1 at a time (I think there were maybe 10 dancers total Sun, maybe less). I didn't arrive till after 11 each night. I didn't realize they started at 8, so I'll try going earlier next time. Each night there were a couple of really good looking dancers, some OK, others didn't keep my attention at all. (This is purely my opinion & others may see them differently for sure.) I didn't check out the upstairs VIP area till really late Sat & Sun and there was nothing going on then. Again, I'll try earlier next time. (Note: the upstairs isn't finished yet, but has a bar serving there, a bed instead of a stage for the dancer, and curtained lap dance rooms.) The club is really nice, big drinks, good pours, for a good price. All the employees were friendly. One night the DJ came over to thank me for tipping a particular dancer who he said had been having a rough night with few tips. I thought that was really sweet of him to be looking out for the dancers like that. Biggest news: a pole was installed in the middle of the stage Sun. It didn't get much use, but we'll see. Good size crowd on Fri & Sat, really small group of customers on Sun. Any other info I can gather on future trips? I'll be glad to go as often as I need to in order to report back. 😜 https://www.instagram.com/johnsonstampa/

When I submitted the form it said I’d hear from them within 3 business days. Did you get that message too but not hear back for 2 weeks?

That's really interesting, because the online form I just filled out for the MPX vaccine in Tampa offered this: 16.Unless contraindicated, would you be interested in receiving the COVID, hepatitis A and/or meningitis vaccines along the Monkeypox vaccine? /A menos que tenga una contraindicacion, esta usted interesado en recibir vacunas contra el COVID, hepatitis A y/o meningitis junto con la vacuna contra la Viruela del Mono? Monkeypox and COVID only/Viruela del Mono y COVID solamente Monkeypox and hepatitis A only/Viruela del Mono y hepatitis A solamente Monkeypox and meningitis only/Viruela del Mono y meningitis solamente Monkeypox, COVID, hepatitis A and meningitis/Viruela del Mono, COVID, hepatitis A y meningitis No

So what's the parking situation? As I recall, there weren't many spots at the club, & not a neighborhood with a lot of available street parking. I'm getting over my first case of Covid or I would have been there for sure. Look forward to becoming a regular. I miss the old days when I'd stop in at Baxter's & then the Male Room on Fri & Sat nights to check out the dancers. Hopefully this will last a while.

It amazes me that these players come into the house after watching previous seasons and seeing the controversies that arose, and they STILL don't think about how their own words and actions, which are being observed almost 24/7, will be documented, repeated, and analyzed. Daniel came in as a self proclaimed superfan and yet he acted like a total jerk, and thought he was playing a great game. Nicole was confident she and Daniel were doing everything right, yet their behavior was so wrong. I agree with Mercury that Kyle appears to be naive and sheltered, but at his age Kyle should have more self awareness with cameras and microphones everywhere he goes.
