I had a great view of the signage in Times Square when I was in the bar at the Marriott Marquis in July after a book signing sponsored by a convention being held there, so I can attest to this. A member of the group I was with, who was staying at the hotel, mentioned that if she didn't close the curtains tightly, the glare from the ads prevented her from sleeping. But the upside was that the American Apparel sign right outside the window had lots of cute eye candy, with the men getting more than equal time.

Thanks BaronArtz. I've been having a dialogue with a friend who has a fairly new relationship with a working boy. The boy made comments about looking for a sugar daddy and my friend has been trying to get his head wrapped around that. I suspect (hope) that my friend will read this.

I have. It was fun when it lasted and it inevitably came to an end. As most of these relationships do. Sugar daddy relationships don't really work because of the inherent conflict of interests. The 'son' always worries that the 'dad' can discard him at any time when somebody hotter shows up. The 'dad' worries that the 'son' is just staying in the relationship because of the money. Exclusivity issues can be problematic. Will 'dad' and 'son' live together, or separately? There will be real heart break when one party sees is as a quasi-marriage and the other party sees it as a short term arrangement. My advice: don't do it. Except if you both know/agree it is a short term thing. Or if you are really in love and are getting married.

I think these reviewers are expecting too much of Hollywood. Many movie and television shows about minority groups (African Americans, Jews, Hispanics) typically feature stars with cookie cutter, WASP-y features. Tonyko can chime in, but I assume that's so a middle America audience can identify with the character. Even HBO's the Normal Heart starred Mark Ruffalo.

When I was four and my brother was seven, we each got a GI Joe for Xmas. Instinctively I took of all of their clothes (a 'Mattel' label where the good stuff was supposed to be...so dissappointing!), put them on my softest pillow, made them tangle up into one another, and put a blanket on top. My brother found them like that the next morning, and with a puzzled look, asked me...'What in the world are our GI Joes doing? Are they fighting?!". Well no, they're doing something much more worthwhile.

Thanks again, everyone, for the help. I finally made it to the ENT, who did the necessary exam and found nothing. He said the issue is mysterious, but came up with a possible cause. He ordered an MRI, which I can do if the issue continues. I'll probably let this go for now..
