  1. Planter's Inn in Charleston, SC (Relais and Châteaux).
  2. I loved Pelican Hill in Newport Beach. I was upgraded from a standard room to a three bedroom ocean view villa. I probably should have felt lonely and in need of someone to share it, but I loved having the place to myself! The villa comes with a handsome butler who chauffeurs you around the grounds in a Mercedes SUV. http://ah.sized.images.s3.amazonaws.com/original/luxury-villas-resort-pelican-hill-villas-banner.jpg
  3. Women are held to a higher standard when it comes to looks than straight men are. It's hard to compare standards for straight women and gay men though, unless you only look at their appeal among bisexual men.
  4. Reason #62 to keep dating men PGA star allegedly attacked by wife after terrible round PGA star Lucas Glover’s wife was arrested for violently attacking the golfer over his poor showing at The Players Championship, authorities said. Krista Glover was arrested Saturday on battery charges at a home the couple rented in Ponte Vedra, Florida, not far from the competition at Sawgrass TPC, the Daily Mail reported. The 36-year-old is accused of causing bodily harm when she “forcefully attacked” the 2009 US Open winner and her mother-in-law in front of their two kids, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. When officers arrived at the scene, Lucas told them that, according to authorities, “when he plays a bad round of golf, Krista proceeds to start an altercation with him and telling him how he is a loser and a p—y.” https://nypost.com/2018/05/15/pga-star-allegedly-attacked-by-wife-after-terrible-round/ http://www.details.inspirato.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/lucasglover_family.jpg
  5. Drugs might have been the carrot. But what was the stick (no pun intended)? It would be very reasonable for an inmate to believe that the guard would make their lives more difficult if she refused. Delicate flowers or not, the inmates can't just walk away, which is why the sex is considered coercive.
  6. We never did any rope climbing. We ran, played basketball and badminton, that sort of thing.
  7. From what Gar1eth has posted over the past few months, it's unsurprising that he doesn't have extra money sitting around to spend on a room.
  8. This may have pissed him off, especially if you hadn't yet sent your own face pics.
  9. It sounds like you're attracting a high quality crowd. I hope the logistics work out better with #3 and #4.
  10. IMO Will is still handsome, hair or no.
  11. An Uber driver in LA offered me alcohol. After doing so, he told me he had invested in bitcoin early and was going to buy real estate on some random island and retire. The whole story was so confusing that I didn't even bother to be skeptical about it.
  12. I don't know about her, but he's still acting like a straight man.
  13. I was going to add "or high school;" if anything, high school friendships tend to be even stronger. However, from what I've seen, people make friends at universities of all sorts, including those in which most students commute to campus. Unlike people even a decade or two older, most people in my cohort jumped around, working at each company for only a few years. I did make friends at my first job, which required a lot of social interaction. But again, after a certain age, many people are married with families and aren't looking for new friends. I agree with the rest of your post, particularly about communities for older people.
  14. The issue is that most people make their closest platonic friends in college and then, over the next decade, acquire a network of less close friends around that tightly knit group. It's nearly impossible to break into those networks because many people are apprehensive about befriending someone unknown to their group. And of course, if someone isn't wasn't good at making friends early on, the situation is unlikely to change. Of course, the situation would be different in an assisted living community or other communal living situation.
  15. Happy birthday, Pensant! I hope you have a hot seatmate on the flight back.
  16. Some guy who wasn't getting laid just learned about Pareto's principle.
  17. The flip flops azdr posted are convenient but, as he said, uncomfortable. I prefer these.
  18. I don't wear socks except with running shoes.
  19. "Woke" "Shoe in" in place of "shoo-in." As for "like," it's just filler, an arguably more mellifluous substitute for "you know" or "um."
  20. Compare to a well known mogul's Northern California home: See more photos here
  21. Was the hotel doing well before that?
  22. Tthere would need to be other businesses there that would draw gay tourists during the hours they aren't in the bathhouse. One could open a full-service hotel, with a bathhouse and multiple restaurants and bars, but it's hard to draw enough gay tourists to support such a large operation. Look at what happened to the Out Hotel--and that's in NYC!
  23. The interiors are gimmicky (e.g. the silly candy store) and cheaply done compared to the best houses in Bel Air/Beverly Hills and Silicon Valley.
  24. The men I know--both single men and gay couples--put a great deal of due diligence and money into the donor egg selection process and usually end up with stunning kids. (Unlike women, men's selections are not constrained by competitiveness with the egg donor.) I doubt they would allow all that time and money to go to waste by letting the kid eat junk food and play video games.
