  1. I think this is right. The conversation wasn't about bisexuality, which neither of us brought up. I sent him an animal video. He jokingly pointed out that a person in the video seemed flamboyantly gay. He then mentioned that I had once said that sexuality is a continuum and that he's on the gay side. I initially misread this as a joke about the guy in the video, not about him—especially since he used to poke fun at the “continuum” idea. So i asked him about his pronouns. As soon as I wrote that, I realized that I had misread and that he would take it as gay=feminine. He replied that his pronouns are "fa*" and "swish." That's when I knew for sure that he was dead serious.
  2. Thanks for the thoughtful reply, ML. I'm straight. The homophobic speech was directed at gay men. I believe he supported criminal penalties for homosexual conducr. He used to talk a lot about MtM oral and anal sex, "There's no such thing as bi. People are binary". etc. 12-15 years ago is when we last spoke. I last saw him well before that because we lived in different cities. As for the rift, he insulted me via voicemail, and I cut off contact. I think he left a VM a year later. This time, I contacted him. Someone I know needed some advice related to his profession, and I thought he might have unique thoughts to offer. After weeks of deliberation, I swallowed my pride and called him. He might be on here. He certainly has money.
  3. We had already talked on the phone a few days ago. I guess it was easier to tell me over text. He's single as far as I can tell.
  4. Thanks for understanding. I should apologize. I support him in an offhand way. I was trying to avoid sentimentality. All this happened over email and text, which made it harder. I last saw him around 12-15 years ago. Just shows how much the world has changed since the Obergefell decision.
  5. I think you're right, Kyle. I saw this with another ex, who also all but out of the closet.
  6. It's been many years since I spoke to this guy. When I last knew him, he was quite homophobic. Now he's telling me he's gay. We used to joke about this, and he always denied it. I had figured he was straight but awkward. I tried joshing around to see if he was serious, and he got a little defensive. How do I respond?
  7. I read that the samples expire in about 2 months. Might be a good time to start and see if it helps.
  8. I lost weight without GLP1s, and my doctor is suspicious that it's the result of a malignancy. That would be a remarkable coincidence: I gained weight for years until I read a book on how to stop eating at night, and quickly started losing weight. But I see where he's coming from: it was easier than it should have been given my age. We'll see how long my new happy weight lasts.
  9. Reminds me of that extortion case involving the Sean Cody actor. Unfortunately, the nneurosurgeon this case was probably less connected than the wealthy Palm Beach businessman in the Sean Cody case. Also, the neurosurgeon was probably more afraid of being exposed because he depends on referrals.
  10. Is it possible that gay men in PS are dining together indoors more often or in larger groups than straight people?
  11. Belated happy birthday, Cooper!
  12. Uncomfortable to go down when stuff may come up.
  13. These drugs are a big advance in medicine and are probably worth the side effects for diabetics or obese people. For me, though, weight loss is not worth constant nausea--especially when my A1c, BP etc were already good. That's why I raw dogged it. Also, some of the side effects, like muscle wasting, happen whether you tolerate discomfort or not. Increasing protein intake helps, but it's tough to get protein down when you're nauseous.
  14. I don't. They're too loud, and I'm a very light sleeper. My issue is structural (small mouth), so losing weight made no difference for me.
  15. I had some contact with him long ago. I remember him as a smart, reasonably nice guy. RIP.
  16. Feminists? The debate is mostly between monarchists who say it's all a tempest in a teapot and people who suspect tensions between William and her. The second group says she's flexing on William, showing him that the firm needs her more than she needs them.
  17. "lol" makes one sound like a 35-year-old woman.
  18. Goofus: Yeah!! Shake that mink ass! Gallant: I enjoy watching you dance from behind.
  19. I’m surprised that a BigLaw associate has time to escort. Associates have to churn out billable hours to have any chance to make partner or even go in-house somewhere. If they don't produce, they’re quickly tossed out.
  20. Wikipedia says that trade are straight men who have sex with gay men for money. From what I've read here, the term carries connotations about class and education. When folks here post about trade, rough ornot, they're usually thinking about blue collar guys. So would a medical student be considered trade? What about a Navy SEAL?
  21. There are many discussions about trade on this forum. I’m wondering who is considered trade. Does that include any ex-military or law enforcement guy? Do they have to be jacked. A while ago, I met a ex-special forces guy at a party. Yes, he was the real deal with multiple tours. He had fancy educational credentials and is not very tall, so some might not consider him trade. But he had some trade qualities: When we exchanged contact info, he became impatient and almost grabbed my phone out of my hand. I guess they teach that at special forces school. I was surprised but a little intrigued. The combination of intelligence and a little aggressiveness is hot, and I sometimes think about him. What does “trade” mean to you?
  22. Don’t the GLP1s also treat PCOS, which would then improve fertility? GLP-1 analogue as a novel approach for fertility treatment: unravelling the therapeutic potential: A narrative review - MedCrave online MEDCRAVEONLINE.COM Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogues have emerged as promising therapeutic agentsfor the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Recent studies have...
  23. I lost 20% of my body weight at a rate of one pound a week. I’m now a few pounds below the goal weight I described above. I opted not to take GLP1s.
  24. I’m guessing that two things are going on: 1 She values her looks and hair, which is understandable. She doesn’t want to be photographed while undergoing chemo. Kensington Palace can’t say this because this would seem insensitive to less privileged subjects with cancer, who don’t have the chance to hide out in a castle with servants. 2. There are issues with William. It probably started with the Rose affair and blew up with all the negative media coverage over the past few months.
