  1. Yes, Venmo is a bit more anonymous. However, I think Venmo is owned by Paypal. So I wouldn't be surprised if Rentmen becomes blocked from that site/app at some point in the future.
PayPal bought Venmo but hasn't instituted it's draconian rules there, YET.
  2. For any users who use PayPal MasterCard or PayPal Cash Card as a discreet way to control payments between you and RM Media, good for you to know that the company has blocked RentMen as a merchant for “fraudulent activity.”

better a prepaid card for “nefarious” activity.

  3. The fee for each transaction is $0.30 USD, plus 2.9% of the amount you receive from U.S.-based clients. For funds being received from someone outside the U.S., the fee for each transaction is 4.4% plus a fixed fee that varies depending on the country where the funds are coming from.

    That’s 32.9% versus 4.4%.

Even if you copied and pasted the info, you need to find out why USD conversion is costing you 8 times more.

  4. My parents owned two Impalas - a 1964 and 1967, if I remember correctly. They were big enough for me to stretch out and take a nap in the back seat on a long trip.

That’s no where near what/who I was able to do in a ‘65 Impala ‘67 Pontiac or a ‘’72 Malibu. Yup, got laid weekly in one of those cars during high school. Mostly, just this one boy all the way through.

  5. Just found that out the other day. I think it stinks.

My cable (and internet) is provided through my condo association, so I have no choice but to pay ($70.00/month). However, I refuse to get/pay for any add-on packages when there are other choices such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc..

Several of the residents are complaining. All totaled, just in our association alone, Infinity is raking in a little over $18,000 a month/$220,000 a year. I'm thinking there may be some resistance to renewing our contract when it comes up for renewal.

You should check out a satellite service, i.e. DirecTV. Our dish supports 8 units at a cost of $325/month total. Then each owner can subscribe to premium services to their heart's delight.
  6. Whatever remains will go to charity, including one 501©(3) that I have been personally involved for over 15 years. I have never witnessed anyone benefit, grow in wisdom or generosity after receiving a cash inheritance, and I will not waste resources like that.

Interesting... my parents estate settled, my brother’s banker made an ACH deposit to my checking account, then the next day, I paid more than my inheritance as a principal reduction on my mortgage. So from my parent’s home’s equity to my home’s equity in 24 hours.

  7. Not from a gentleman provider but the shoeshine stand at the Denver airport has a “pay what you’d like” policy. The first time I encountered it, i was a bit flummoxed as you surely are. Having generally paid $7-$10 plus tip in other airports, I paid the guy $12. But thinking about it on my way to my gate, what’s their average per shine? Does someone not pay at all? I‘m sure there are a few. Do wealthy and generous folks hand them a $100? I‘m certain they do. So I have never paid less than $20 in Denver because they do great work, they have fantastic attitudes and I believe they deserve a premium.

As in the case of the no set price provider? I think id be prepared to pay an hour-ranging between $200 for a disappointing experience up to $400 for my new boyfriend. ;-0!

  8. Or, imagine your niece, nephew, godchild, or your own child working at a quick-service restaurant approached in that way by a man.

I once knew a very cute teenage hottie who when propositioned by men at his ticket-taker stand in the movie theatre replied, "Lay it in my hand, I'll show you something you've never seen before!" Which resulted in laughter until he exclaimed, smiling, "The OTHER end!"

  9. Seriously, this.

It's an echo chamber at times on this board, so don't forget to think realistically with a liberal dash of brutal honesty.

I believe you're expectations may be beyond the liberality of this board. A liberality which seems directed mainly t'wards poly-tricks and not 20-something tricks.:)
  10. Woah, woah, woah. You initially took the upgrade and left him in coach?

Hell, that's grounds for a divorce right there ;)

EXACTLY, Unicorn should have suffered in coach while Mr. Economics majored learned the valuable lesson of Front Seat is BEST!

  11. “Neither a borrower nor a lender be; / For loan oft loses both itself and friend.” Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 3.

if you haven't got it to GIVE FREELY WITH NO EXPECTATION, don't give it. I’ve given when I've been asked and I've given when I've seen a need without being asked. The continued relationships from those who solicited are about 50/50, with almost all not believing the gifted nature of the gift at first. The response of those who received gifts they hadn't solicited has been more like 75% appreciated and continued - enhanced our friendship.
