some providers offer varying rates based on: initial client tone, later client tone, requests made by the client, number of past meetings with the same client, incall/outcall, city (expensive or not), perceived demand.....you may've gotten some PMs on his rates, but many clients here may be reluctant to "promise" a rate.....
it's best to send a polite, brief, professional, discreet note to the provider and inquire yourself......perhaps in your second note, inquire about rates "for time only" after you've discreetly suggested (separately) what you like to do at a meeting.......try to confirm a meeting very soon after that and avoid the much-maligned "email tag" that some providers don't like.......
