my Dad was an airline captain (TWA) and so we had passes....first European trip for me was in 1969 at age 6......only Germany and Austria, I think.......the entire family was on one passport, I think... I remember emerging from low clouds as we landed at Frankfurt and noting how all the buildings seemed to look old, uniformly dark brown, and a couple or three stories......I got lost in downtown Munich one busy evening (lost a parent's grip) and a German woman came up to me as I wandered the busy streets and started asking me a bunch of stuff in German....all I could do was nod "yes" to everything she asked me and I was finally let go and made my way back to the hotel (always have been good with navigation)....I asked the desk clerk about my parents and he said to just wait in the lobby....a few minutes later, while my Dad was still out looking, my Mom and younger brother came in and all was concluded....... we all went skiing with other airline friends at Kitzbuhel in Austria - my first time on skis......I do remember being a bit of a brat during the ski lesson one day (several of us of various ages at the lesson) and taking off down the slope at full speed out of control....the instructor caught up with me - and I don't remember what happened next (I think I went back to the lesson??)......they gave out medals to all the ski students at the end of the week and I remember getting the lowest of the possible ranks......still have the medal somewhere around here.....

recently met with a provider who danced at Dick's about three years ago or so, he said.....he told me he thought it'd gone downhill in more recent times....I know you've sung the praises of Dick's, @tassojunior, but if you haven't been here in the last couple or three years, you might agree with my recent guy's opinion.... still, I'll continue to visit Dick's since I ain't allowed in Canada these days and Atlanta is too humid this time of year!

Bought a case of some Kirkland hard seltzer at Costco yesterday. A friend turned me on to now-trendy hard seltzer just a few weeks ago and I regret missing out on the craze. Low sugar and carbs, manageable calories, very refreshing in the summer, and just enough of a buzz, but not too much!

remember when assertiveness training was all the rage back in the 70s!??!......one of the pointers was to sandwich a negative with two positives before and after.....therefore, I'd add something like "holy cow, the sex is incredible!!" to the very beginning, then, as you've written, express your disappointment and end with the "fast as lightning" note.....

was about nine or ten years old in the early 1970s and my family and our cousins' family took a white-water rafting trip in the Sierras.....at the river launch spot, two other guys in their early 20s were skinny-dipping and walking naked around the area very near us.....for a kid like me ("born this way"), I guess I was impressed by the looks of young fully-matured guys in good shape....I probably had only ever seen my Dad naked before this (and he was in his 40s at the time!).....I do remember excitedly asking other family members if they saw those naked guys over there, but didn't get any more 'obvious' about it, I think..... the guys running the river trip were all young and in good shape, too.....don't know if I was hoping to be and look like them?......or if I was jealous?......I didn't yet know about gay/straight/what-have-you stuff yet and I don't think there was a sexual (gay) urge/attraction at all at that early age, but I just remember that they seemed like classic, grown, good-looking, masculine, in-shape adult men and I was just a kid that didn't look like that..... next thing I remember related to all this is the first time we had to actually change clothes in a locker room for gym (7th grade).....we weren't required to shower, but some of the guys did......I remember an 8th grade guy, who'd evidently pretty much already progressed thru puberty, would shower and then unnecessarily linger for just a few extra seconds at the entrance to the showers, facing the locker room full frontal.....tall, dark, and handsome (and showing off the impressive effects of puberty!!)........at the time, I still didn't know the whole gay/straight dynamic and society standards, but did just feel an admiration (not quite the right word???) for this guy who seemed to be in great shape, well-hung, good-looking, the whole bit......
