a friend who lives in Albuquerque just told me a few days ago that almost all "Hispanics" (a term made up by the Census Bureau many years ago, I believe) in that city insist on being called Spanish - not Hispanic, not Mexican, not Mexican-American......pure European blood is still much-prized by many.......
