  1. I'm all for the online sites. 1) ProPublica 2) Talking Points Memo (liberal) 3) Raw Story (clickbait liberal) 4) Hit And Run (libertarian) 5) Naked Capitalism (economic) 6) The Unz report (economic +) 7) The Bulwark (conservative) 8) American Spectator ( conservative) and 9) Reddit for their world news and futurology sub-reddits. I also subscribe to the NYT and totally respect Radley Balko's work for the Washington Post.
  2. What's porn?
  3. Time to come clean - was walking to a hotel in Reynosa, Mexico with a friend late at night and was arrested because I looked like I was going to start a riot. $40.00 later I was free to go.
  4. Never have I ever been in an American jail.
  5. What The Constitution Means To Me is now streaming on Amazon Prime. It was a big hit on Broadway last season and I enjoyed it a great deal when I finally saw it today. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/what_the_constitution_means_to_me
  6. It's a very good production. I saw it on Broadway and can't wait to see it again. Brian Dennehy nails it, always felt he was a vastly underestimated actor. Elizabeth Franz nails Linda too.
  7. Went to a Duane Reade to get my flu shot - 2nd time I tried and they were still out. Pharmacist directed me to a Rite Aid that had a supply. Got my shot and went back to thank the pharmacist. A good news story for these troubled times.
  8. I did with a plumber once. Unattractive and really bad sex so take this fantasy off your list. Get back to cops and firefighters, the blue collar workers who truly deserve our delusional, unrequited obsession. (Wasn't a very good plumber either)
  9. The Social Dilemma on Netflix is a must watch. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11464826/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 Dissects social media and how it affects all of our lives. No spoilers but it is frightening and a real wake up call.
  10. You might also take a look at Charite on Netflix. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5337806/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_3 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/charit_ There's also Charite At War. In both series the doctors depicted were real doctors at the time. Charite is a hospital in Germany.
  11. Ali Forney Center here in NY. They provide housing and social services for homeless gay teens.
  12. And one of the best series Borgen is now streaming on Netflix. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/borgen Liked it so much I bought the boxed set so I could see it again and loan it to friends.
  13. Young Wallender started streaming recently.
  14. If you have BritBox Little Boy Blue is a good watch.
  15. A good friend had been seeing an escort, working guy from Rounds, for a while and was bored with him but knew he was a marginal, street kid and needed the money so he convinced me to start seeing him. I'd been celibate since the beginning of the Aids crisis and was happy to safely see someone. Was working 24/7 having just started a new company and had no time for bars, etc. Worked out well.
  16. Have seen a number 1) The Who doing all of Tommy at Fillmore East 2) The Pretenders at Radio City 3) Sarah Vaughn, Betty Carter with special guest Billy Eckstine at Carnegie Hall and also Patti Labelle. But, of course, being gay the best concert was The Richie Family at the Ice Palace on Fire Island.
  17. Chet Baker Chet Baker (Prestige Records)
  18. Bad news, as if we needed any more...Israel reports a doctor who had Covid and recovered has been reinfected. https://www.jpost.com/health-science/israeli-doctor-reinfected-with-coronavirus-3-months-after-recovering-635550
  19. Man who refused to wear a mask dies on Covid-19. https://www.cleveland19.com/2020/07/10/year-old-port-clinton-war-vet-dies-covid-complications-fourth-july/
  20. I'd been in therapy for years but it was the former escort MIck, now retired, that got me to open up and talk about abuse, including sexual, that happened in childhood. He gave me my life and I am so much happier and better off for having met him. He's the first person I ever trusted - trusted to the point that when I bought a new apartment I called him for decorating advice. Truly, a kind and quality human being.
  21. I had the virus Greg and my doctor can't tell me if I'll have any long time complications from heart or liver problems. My doctor can't tell me if my antibodies will wear off in a couple of months and whether I could be re-infected in the fall. Who's your doctor that's giving you such great news?
  22. Please listen to the end - it's hysterical.
  23. Line Of Duty on BritBox is a very good series. 8.8 rating on IMDB. I'm also watching London Kills and Vera.
  24. Gracepoint on Prime is an American recreation of Broadchurch starring David Tennant as well. Nowhere near as good.
  25. I really enjoyed Merli on Netflix even though they only did one season and the French crime drama Spiral streams on Prime.
