I've noticed that prices have inched up, and my first response is "supply and demand," as it usually is with prices and services.
I haven't noticed anyone give another Covid-based explanation, and that is the increased money available to spend on massages.  I'm sorry that BeefyDude was unemployed for nine months, and I'm glad that he's at work again.   But many of us, including me, have been spending much less money on theater, restaurants, and travel, our usual expenditures.
I've greatly increased my donations to non-profits, such as the West Side Coalition Against Hunger, but there is still more discretionary money for me to spend these days.  I'm sure others are in the same situation, and this leads to willingness to spend more money on the pleasures that are still available to us.
Nationally, this "more money chasing fewer goods" has led to supply chain problems, especially in home furnishings.  People take fewer vacations, so buying that recliner chair or building a deck results in higher prices and shortages.
BeefyDude may be tired of hearing about Covid, but it's an important factor, and not just in towels and hand sanitizer.

He may be telling the truth; at $100, there was probably a demand for his services, so he put 2 and 2 together, and raised his prices. That's what we call free market capitalism! As for not responding, that's what I call poor marketing.

Utopia makes it very easy to schedule a massage.  Their website lists who is available at whast time, in 30 minute intervals, and you can schedule several days in advance.  They will send you a confirmation, and then an email reminder 24 hours before your appointment.
I had a really good massage with David, who is from Colombia, who emphasized technical aspects of the massage over erotic elements.  But the massage was so good that I didn't mind an omission or two.  (Yes, HE included.)  Danny is Asian, twinky, and is the reverse of David in what he emphasizes in his massage.

Definitely seems worth taking a plunge. I have my second Covid vaccine dose in two weeks, and that will enable me to get back into the game!

When I see employees at Utopia, usually manning the front desk, I ask, "What's your name?"   I'm sure they're masseurs, though I don't ask that.  I can look them up on the website, where clients can choose their masseurs for their next appointment.
I'd suggest that Relaxpro simply ask the guy who does nails his name, and perhaps ask if he's a masseur.  Once you know his name, it'll be easy fo learn if he's also a masseur.
Perhaps you could ask him if he'd be willing to come to your apartment and give you a massage?   I've asked masseurs at Utopia, and Jerry came to apt often.

I don't think it would matter if you wore a thong to your massage because you're lying face down naked when the masseur walks into the room.   When I get a massage, I could be wearing a dress for all he knows. as he doesn't see what I'm wear ing, except an outer jackiet or coat in cool weather

I see that rollingrock and I are both interested in Charlie.  I was just about to post a 411, but rolingrock beat me to it.   No one in this chat room has ever been with him, evidently.  He had raised his $140 fee to $160, but has recently lowered it to $135.  I guess he wasn't attracting many clients at $160.  I'm still interested, but don't want to take the plunge unless I read something favorable here.   But I might.

First, you have to remember that the masseur usually gets 1/3 of the price we pay.  $60/hour is standard for spas, so $20 for the masseur isn't much.   I usually tip $60, and despite what Redwine says, I don't think I've being all that generous.   If the massage was just so-so, I  might give only $40.  $20 would be an insult, and I've never done that.

If someone told me he tipped $80 or $100, I wouldn't raise an eyebrow (I can't raise just one eyebrow, anyway).  I'd just assume  he had a very good massage!

I'll just add that I had an excellent massage from Andy at Utopia last week.  I intend to return next week.  Since there has been a lot of confusion over masseurs with the same name, Andy is in his mid-20s, Asian,  About 6 feet, 180.  A good massage, a nice guy who speaks fluent English, and is generous with his body.

Just to blow off a bit of steam: I'm getting tired of YMMV with these masseurs who MAY give a sensual/erotic experience if they feel in the mood that day, or if the client turns them on. I'm not young, I could certainly lose 15 pounds, I'm not well endowed, I know that I will NEVER turn anyone on, and I'm really not interested in throwing the dice. Danny and Jose and Ethan have been mentioned here, and "YMMV" has been said about each of them, including PMs. I've had it with this stuff. For $150, or whatever they charge, I'm not up for a crap shoot.
Same at the spas. If I want to give signals, I'll catch for the Yankees. I'm really getting irritated with having to wonder if a masseur will give the kind of massage I want, even if I ask for some "extras" before we begin, or brush his genitals during the massage and see how he reacts.
I find that most spa masseurs do what they want to do -- not that they HAVE to provide "extras," but
I'm not up for a guessing game.
