Thank you for the ideas and encouragement, I really appreciate it! In the future, at the start of 2 hour sessions, I will be more active in slowing down and with more time before and after and see if that's something that I want - or, maybe, 90 mins is perfect for me and I should just think of 2 hours as 90 minute session. This is so true. I went into my second time meeting up with a guy as a total top for almost 20 years (was verse until my early 30's) and unexpectedly left vers again. Was a fantastic experience and recovered lost joy in my life. This is one reason I haven't been so worried about filling time, I like to go with the flow and see where our energy leads than follow a template or script. Takes me back to the days hooking up with guys from going out, or cruising the streets or trails back before the Internet and smart phones.

I've only gone one round at a time so far (not sure I have enough gas in the tank for 2 in 2 hours, though who knows 🤷🏼‍♂️), but my experience of one round is that it is definitely over an hour. In the future, I'll experiment with both 1 hour meetings and 2 hours with a second round of playtime.

Newbie client questions: I've had a handful of meetings over the past few months, and I always book for 2 hours so that we're not rushed. But, only one time was actually 2 hours, which included quite a bit conversation based on shared interests, while most meetings clock in at around 90 minutes. I felt like they have been complete experiences: conversation, affection/cuddling, making out, play time, post-play shower together, etc... My donation is always for the full time booked (often with some extra), which I'm totally fine with: for me, I'm not a clock watcher on the inverse side. However, I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something? Or, is this more common than I understand? Or, maybe masseurs have it right by offering bookings in 30 minute increments? Would be very appreciative of people's thoughts or feedback.

This is a super-helpful explanation of your experience. I'm still recently back into this, but I try to research in advance fairly well, starting with actually reading their profile (and Twitter/OnlyFans/website, if they have those) in detail! Not everyone is as thorough as you in the information they provide, so the only times I've had followup questions are if I really do need more information (eg. some guys leave the "I am into" section blank) or a face pic. In both of these cases I make sure our schedules line up first, so I'm not wasting our time. So far, it's worked out and I've booked every guy I've reached out to. I'm sure this won't be the case every time, but hopefully it's the rule rather the exception.

I'm currently on Truvada just to get started out, but plan on switching. Seems like a winner if you can swing 6 visits per year vs 4.

My doctor gave me a Doxy PEP prescription, and disclosed that he uses it as well. He did mention that if you're having frequent exposure periods (eg. 7 days a week), he doesn't recommend taking an antibiotic daily. My exposures are far enough in between that it I feel the added protection is worth it. In fact, due to my current schedule, I've only used on once so far and didn't experience any of the negative digestive side effects that he warned me of.

Absolutely this. I always politely confirm the day before ("Hi! Just checking in, does 2:00 PM tomorrow still work for you?"), if he doesn't beat me to it; and, again the day of as one of us is en route or about to be en route. I don't want to take up too much of someone's time or attention, but I find this helps build trust.

I'm sure so, so many clients or potential clients do not approach this process with clarity that I attempt to. I usually book a few days up to a week ahead, starting with a range of days, for example: "I'm visiting next week and looking to meet up on Tuesday or Wednesday late morning or early afternoon," to make sure there's a general schedule match up front. Maybe by approach is informed by having been on other side of equation? Albeit, when I was a provider all I had was a tiny text ad in the local gay rag, a pager, and a street corner to fall back on. Times have changed for better or worse, but it's still all about mutual respect!

As a client, I have similar expectations about whether a provider can or will follow through with a booking for which I've made the time and am looking forward to. IMO I've only made a booking once it is double confirmed. For example, after important information not their profile is gathered: Me: Your rate of $X works. I'd like to meet up for 2 hours starting at 1:00 PM tomorrow, if that's good for you? Them: I can do that, see you tomorrow at 1. Me: Great! Looking forward to it! Until I have an exchange like the above, I don't assume I have a confirmed appointment with a provider. I'm very conscientiousness about not wasting anyone's time in the booking process, and I consider the concrete confirmation of a day, time, duration and rate is respectful of all parties time and attention.

Maybe I'm the minority, but this is probably the least important thing for me when deciding to book a provider. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This! I've had therapists (<cough>I've now decided to apply those funds to something else that improves my mental health and is far more enjoyable<cough>) and personal trainers with whom I developed personal connections, and even though I was or are a "regular" with them I would never expect or want a "discount" for their services. I've even had to tell a personal trainer that they needed to raise their rate! Now, I consistently tip preferred providers well, so that they know I really do appreciate their work and that they I take bookings with them seriously.

Close-in DC suburb, so exceptionally educated and progressive compared to most of the rest of the country. I came out between my Sophomore and Junior year in '85, and I was the only out student in my High School during my four years there. I noticed a change for young people around the time My So Called Life aired in the mid-1990's. Coming out in the 1980's was not only tough enough in terms of general societal acceptance, but mainstream society starting to learn of AIDS crisis made it exponentially more difficult. My mom, while supportive of me as a person, was 100% sure I was going to die of AIDS at first.
