I got a bit nervous when I heard that local Chinatown businesses are suffering because of fear of coronavirus, even though there hasn't been a single case in Nevada. So I went to Costco to load up. It looked like a regular Friday afternoon, superbusy as always, but no panic-buying. I have enough in my pantry & freezer to last me ~1 month. While I don't expect things will deteriorate to the point where the supermarkets are empty, I do feel more comfortable knowing I have food to last me a while. I agree with everything you said. Prop 13 causes plenty of other problems, like inadequate local funding for schools because of "artificially" low property taxes. Unfortunately, the beneficiaries of Prop 13 would rip their own gonads out before allowing Prop 13 to be overturned.

I think it depends on your concept of a serving. If you're looking for a light snack, then one sleeve is a serving. But if you're thinking more of a meal, then the whole box. Three cookies is a proper serving? Pffft, not even for the mice in my old NYC apartment.

As always, very good advice from Benjamin Nicholas. Aside from avoiding financial ruin, I would avoid the bloodsuckers because there's gotta be something seriously wrong with them. Maybe they're way too desperate, or way too selfish, or way too narcissistic, or way too ... whatever the hell it is, best to stay as far away from them as possible. It's been a while since I watched the show, but my old flatmate used to make fun of me for watching "Quantum Leap." Maybe there's an accountant among us who can verify, but isn't there a $10,000 rule? That is, any transaction involving more than $10,000 must be reported to the IRS.
