  1. It's difficult for me to separate changes in the escort market from changes in my personal desires and expectations. But I do see a couple differences. Now I see more traveling escorts which, for me, is a negative. If I hire in my home city, I want it to be someone who can become a repeat -- not likely when the escort is just passing through. I also now see more ethnic diversity in the escort pool (at least in my go-to source which has been rentboy/rentmen). This, for me, is a positive. I find that my tastes in men has really diversified so it's great that the market has kept up. I can't think of anything else to add without sounding like my grandpa pontificating about how good it was "back in the day."
  2. A friend is suggesting that we join a small group tour of India. I'm ambivalent. I'm not sure I want to join crowds of tourists at the must-see sites or be another relatively well off Westerner gawking and tsk tsk'ing at the "unfortunate conditions of the poor, but oh-so-colorful natives". On the other hand, it is India and, well... people must travel there for a reason. Maybe my preconceived notions are inaccurate.
  3. I'll be there!.... assuming my flight arrives on time and no problem checking into hotel. 6pm sounds good to me.
  4. If he sounds flakey I'll call back to try and discern if it's a google voice number (the equivalent of a blocked number) This is the criteria from your list that concerns me. Up until a couple years ago I used my one and only cell phone number for everything, including communicating with potential escorts. Then I had an unfortunate misunderstanding with an escort and he decided to publish my phone number (I've since learned that he has a reputation for being a temperamental prima donna so it's not only me). But it was disturbing enough that I switched to google voice for escort related communication. I'd hate to be black-listed simply because I use a google voice number.
  5. A man has to be buff with hard abs and a big dick to be sexy.
  6. The guy pictured does some modeling for Aronik swimwear. Pictures are also on his instagram site. Of course that doesn't mean the model is not also advertising his services on rentmen. But it is a factor to consider.
  7. What about student senior discounts?!
  8. My question is a twist on the "Where to retire?" thread from @MidwestCoastal. I really enjoy the progressive, midwestern city where I've lived for the last 40+ years and have little desire to permanently move. But like many others, I'd love to go someplace warmer during our cold winters. So my question is, where is a good place to spend the winter months? Once I narrow options to a short list, I'll probably visit a few places and then do a trial rental at the top contender. Of course Ft Lauderdale and Palm Springs are the obvious choices, but there's got to lots of other good options. I'm open to anywhere in the US, Mexico, Central America and South America. Here are a few things that I'm looking for: - Liberal - A supportive gay community - In or near a reasonably sized city. I'd go crazy in a rural setting. - Fairy easy access to an airport (I may decide to travel during the winter months). - I'm fluent only in English but I could learn to get by in a Spanish speaking country (or I'd be eager to try). Suggestions?
  9. I find that figuring out the correct format of international numbers can be a pain in the *ss. I've had the other person first send me a message and then saved the number from the message to my contact list. It's also helpful to google international phone number format for <whatever country>. (e.g., when to drop a leading zero or a trunk code digit).
  10. Is it okay for someone to take your Facebook profile picture and display it on a discussion forum that promotes white supremacy? Or how about a site that traffics in child porn? ... even if they do not insinuate that you are a white supremacist or use child porn. Keep in mind that everything on the internet is or can be digitally linked. Meaning your profile pic on the white supremacy or child porn site can be easily linked to your Facebook site. I'm not saying that a M4M site about hiring escorts is a bad thing (far from it!), but lots of men would be uncomfortable being, in any way, associated with the site.
  11. Rhubarb mixed with either strawberries or blueberries. I don't like anything too sweet, so I especially like it when the baker/recipe holds back on the sugar, letting the tartness of the rhubarb come through.
  12. I'm clearly not the only one who thinks that posting pictures of your classmates here is way out of line. I don't believe you have any malicious intent @Gar1eth but remember, everything on the internet is (or can be) digitally connected.
  13. For me, it's more important to have protocol for staying healthy: daily exercise, good diet, no smoking, no recreational drugs, alcohol in moderation. I have nothing specific for looking good except shower, shave and the occasional haircut.
  14. I agree 100% that Aaron Travis stories are intense... very intense. But not like a horror movie. I'll just say, you should have a box of tissues or some paper towels handy when you start reading. Travis is a talented writer who knows how to bring uber-hot characters to life -- and he creates vivid sex scenes. His stories often include dominant alpha males and subservient guys who service them, either eagerly or by coercion. I get off on the alpha male scenarios although I'm turned off by some of his story-lines that involve coercion. Forced sex is not sexy to me, not even in a fantasy.
  15. I enjoy audio erotica when it's part of a well written novel (or novella) and has well developed characters, an actual story-line and plot. But for me, this is not porn and does not fuel JO sessions. I've attempted to to listen to hardcore audio porn but tend to be put off by the narrator's attempts to sound sexy. My brain does a much better job at bringing written porn to life than an actor's narration.
  16. Agree with @JEC regarding lodging charging premium rates because they advertise as gay. Example: Gay MisterBandB.com versus original airbnb.com. I've found instances of the exact same rental on both sites but priced higher on the gay site.
  17. I suspect that Mr @Benjamin_Nicholas knows what he's talking about when stating his preference for Steinways. Bösendorfer and Yamaha are the other top tier grand pianos, but I'm with Benjamin in preferring a Steinway. Regarding German vs NY Steinway, I think my preference would be NY... But only because it is, after all, New York. Also, my Grandmother used to own a NY Steinway, so there is that.
  18. So, if I scheduled a date with you and wanted to start out by taking you the The Carlyle Restaurant on E 76th Street, you would decline? I'm guessing that their Steinway is New York, not German. I'd be so dissapointed if we had to turn around an leave.
  19. I ordinarily love piano music, but not in a restaurant setting. Actually, I'd prefer to have no extraneous noise in the restaurant. I only want to hear the voices of my dinner partners speaking in nicely modulated, inside voices.
  20. I've had similar experiences with dancers at gay strip clubs. A few years ago I finished an awesome set of lap dances and asked the dancer if he'd consider a private hotel show. He answered, "yes, but no sex". I was confused so I told him specifically what I wanted to do during our "hotel show". He agreed, saying that it was all okay, just no penetration. It was a terrific hotel visit, lots of good stuff that I considered sex, but apparently he did not. It's lovely when a mismatch in two people's definition of a word can work to their advantage.
  21. Yes, I've done my share of "flirting" with pretty young things although I doubt they even knew I was flirting. You have to be astute enough to know when you might offend someone and self-aware enough to know when you're acting like a lecherous old creep.
  22. Imagine another man, similar in age and appearance as you except straight, finds a 20 year old female Chipotle employee attractive and gives her his email address in the hopes of a hookup.... What would you think of that guy?
  23. Watched it too. It had an important message, but I found the acting very off-putting. Otherwise great actors played their parts as cartoonish caricatures... not much better than slapstick.
  24. I wish that mostly-straight as a orientation label would have been more prevalent when I was in my twenties. I would get so confused by interactions with some men who identified as straight. They would show an interest in me and want to experiment and I would assume that they're actually gay and just starting to come out of the closet. If I could have only seen it for what it was, I wouldn't have allowed my head to get so screwed up over them.
