    Sugar-daddy scam

My brother was very concerned that a charity was trying to take advantage of my dad. It was purportedly a "veterans' charity" that had a name similar to a legitimate veterans' organization. One of the "veterans" (a retired Admiral, no less) kept calling my dad asking for money and would go on and on about my mother, who had just passed away and who supposedly had supported this "charity." (She hadn't. It was the legit one she supported.) My brother called me in a panic one day because my dad had been on the phone with this guy for almost two hours. I called my dad and asked what was up with the charity. He told me that the Admiral was very nice and sympathetic. I asked him for the exact name of the charity, and he wasn't sure. He thought it was the same as the one my mother supported. I asked him to get their name and tax ID number the next time they called. So, he asked for the info the next time they called. Sure enough, it wasn't the same charity. I asked my dad to let my brother or me know when something like this happened again or, at least, get the name and tax ID of the organization. The "Admiral" never called back. We avoided a potentially expensive scam.
  2. The grass is always greener...
  3. I finally got around to reporting it late last week and it was fixed the same day. Today I reported the issue where escorts who logged in more than a few days ago are listed as having logged in "last week." One of the guys hasn't logged in since 2020. Let's see how long it takes them to fix that.
  4. FYI, his current RM name is EDWINXL
  5. Captain Obvious here. When an escort doesn't reply by phone, WhatsApp, RentMen DMs, or any other means, you aren't going to hire him. I've never met this guy, but my gut tells me that if he did respond after all of this time and you did get together, you would have a lackluster experience. Methinks it is time to move on.
  6. I did once and will never do it again. I just love hairy balls. However, if you must, use a fresh razor blade. Don't use a trimmer or electric razor. They are baaaaaad news! Since you failed to search the forum, you will receive two demerits and a red "X" in your permanent file. X Of course, I am kidding. There are no such things.
  7. Moderator's Note: We've removed a couple of explicit images. Please remember that explicit images are not permitted in the publicly accessible forums, such as "The Lounge" and "The Deli." Ever wonder whether something you are about to post is OK or not? Play it safe - post a question to the "Ask a Moderator" forum. Better safe than sorry!! 😀 Thanks everyone!
  8. Moderator's Warning: This thread is veering off topic and is becoming political. Remain on topic (the recent occurrence of malaria cases in the US and the ongoing development of a vaccine) and keep politics out of it.
  9. I understand taking a pass on hiring someone when their ad mentions an OF page. It seems like such ads are placed to drive business to the OF page and not to see clients in person. (At least that's been my experience.) However, the presence of a link to a Twitter page is a head-scratcher. Can you simply not click on the link if Twitter pages ruin the fantasy for you? A big red flag for me is when a profile spends line after line telling prospective clients what not to do or say and devotes little or no space to what the escort actually does. "Ask me" doesn't alarm me, but "I won't tell you anything about me" does.
  10. Moderator's Note: Whenever you question what you can vs can't or should vs shouldn't write, the best approach is to ask a moderator. You can do so by posing the question to the Ask a Moderator forum. Please keep in mind that we are a handful of volunteers and do not have an army of call center agents standing by to answer questions. IOW, answers aren't immediate.
  11. They seem to have redirected "app.rent.men" to "rent.men," but instead of redirecting to the specific page they are redirecting to the home page. That's really sloppy. There is also an issue with the way pictures display on Windows computers. Interestingly, I couldn't locate "report a bug" on rent.men v 7.0 but was able to do so when I reverted to v 6.0. Like I said, sloppy.

    411 on Scottyboii

I'm almost 100% confident it is a glitch with RM. When I followed the link app.rent.men/scottyboii, I was redirected to rent.men. I tried following an app.rent.men link for another provider, the same thing happened. When I tried rent.men/scottyboii, his ad displayed.
  13. Friendboy.pro, from a client's perspective, is a bare-bones version of Rentmen. I've hired a couple of guys who advertise there. I've also seen crossover between RM and FB. I find Mintboys to be full of profiles from guys who haven't worked in a long, long time. They acquired the remains of HourBoy, which wasn't exactly on par with RM, either. Regarding a lack of competition to Rentmen, years ago there was men4rentnow.com, meetlocalescorts.com, HourBoy, and another whose name escapes me all existed alongside Rentboy. That didn't stop Rentboy from having more ads nor did it give them an incentive to create a better site. RM, et al, serve a niche. Typically, one does not find a ton of competitors for a niche business.
  14. Moderator's Warning: The personal attacks, posting of private information, and rants are all against the Company of Men's community guidelines. The offending posts have been hidden. Let's not repeat that behavior here or elsewhere.
  15. I have not seen a decline in the quality of the escorts I hire nor in the quality of my experiences. What I have seen is a drastic increase in the number of guys who are escorting. As the population of escorts increases it is natural that the population of not-so-great escorts also increases.
  16. Thanks for reporting back, @UpAndDown333. Do be sure to complete Form FU-FM-666a, in quintuplicate, detailing your experience. Retain the mint copy, place the buff copy in the manilla folder on the table, and drop the original plus the goldenrod and salmon copies in the drop box next to the door. Please don't mix up the buff and salmon copies. It throws everything off and we cannot have that. I jest... It's great to hear you had a good time and successful meet. I've wanted to hire him for a looooong time, but when he was in LA I wasn't travelling and when I started travelling to SoCal he moved. Maybe I'll have to make a trip to Music City.
  17. I vote for stopping use of and the worry about "woke" and "wokeness." If you don't like a performance (for whatever reason) don't watch or buy tickets for it. It's really that simple. Know what else is simple? Knowing when to stop replying to messages and STOP ATTACKING AND FIGHTING WITH EACH OTHER. Consider this to be a moderator's warning.
  18. Nice kitty. Good kitty. Be an even better kitty and get the hell away from me!

    Sugar-daddy scam

Yes, it is. The point is if the friend gave the "sugar daddy" his bank account number but not his bank's routing number I don't see how the "sugar daddy" could wipe out the friend's bank account.
  20. I thought the same until he referred to "sexy as Phuck" men. That takes euphemism to an entirely new level.

    Sugar-daddy scam

I'm surprised the guy could do that with only the account number, unless the friend gave the "sugar daddy" his bank routing number. Even so, unless the "sugar daddy" also had the friend's online banking credentials he wouldn't have been able to initiate an ACH transfer from the friend's bank account or from his own. In order to set up an account the "sugar daddy" doesn't own as a "transfer from" account he would either need the credentials to prove his ownership or initiate trial deposits, which he would have to verify by logging into the friend's account. The friend can initiate an unauthorized withdrawal claim. No, the bank name and routing number are required to initiate an ACH transaction or to create a physical or electronic check. This is not universal. Most banks require the security questions and/or entering a PIN and others require multi-factor authentication, i.e. a code sent to the mobile phone or email address on file. The code has to be entered before the person logging in can access their account online. Some, but very few, banks did not have these measures in place. I use past tense because: The Federal Trade Commission updated the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) to require multi-factor authentication from customers. The requirement was delayed a couple of times, but last I heard the due date for implementation was June 9, 2023.
  22. So far, so good. However, the use of "Phuckbear" as a screen name is kind of silly unless "Fuckbear" was already taken or was disallowed. Quick question: Did you and he decide to meet at a bar or dis you decide to meet for coffee or a meal? Asking because suggesting a leather bar or bathhouse as a substitute for a coffeehouse or restaurant could be seen as a flag. Not a red flag, maybe a very light yellow one. OK, what did he think would happen as a result of meeting on Bear 411? Bible study? A crocheting circle? Singing the Great American Songbook? His response is ridiculous and there's no need for ridiculousness in any of our lives. Oh, and "sexy as Phuck men" is silly. If he can't write the word "fuck" he's not worth your time. Please tell me he didn't say he likes to tease a man's musky rose blossom before engaging in sexual intercourse. I think you should have just stopped when he said you weren't a match. Calling him unpredictable and referring to his "panic" is insulting, even if you didn't intend it that way. No need to stoop to his level. It is easy for me to say that when I'm not on the receiving end of his messages, but still. I wouldn't respond to "What triggered your panic" either. Frankly, just walking away seems like an excellent approach, even though his reaction to your suggestion was ridiculous. I understand why you feel disappointed. However, I don't think he is an asshole. He probably doesn't like backrooms and bathhouses. Now, seeing as he arranges sex parties that does seem odd. Reminds me of a guy who I met for an afternoon of watersports who, after six hours of peeing on each other, got agitated when I walked into the bathroom to wash my hands while he was peeing in the toilet. Apparently, he was (wait for it) pee shy. It takes all kinds. You and I will need to agree to disagree here UNLESS you arranged to meet at a gay bar in downtown Chicago that has a back room. If that's the case then, I agree, Steamworks is a good choice. I don't think you did anything "wrong" per se nor do I think one of you needs to be right and the other wrong. He changed his mind and decided you are not a match.
  23. Sounds like him sportif and give good sexi.
  24. It's always nice to hear that a very young escort is intelligent, can hold a conversation, and is sexy to boot. I feel there's a misperception that all young guys are shallow and boring, but that's not the case. This guy apparently proves that point. Yet another reason to avaoid generalizations. Thanks for posting about him!
  25. It's funny you said this because I've met a few guys who were provincial and sweet and absolute animals in bed. There's an old thread on Christanpowers that said he was musclebound, i.e., had packed on so much muscle that he had mobility issues. Perhaps that contributed to his being boring?
